Any chance the football program could start tweeting/revealing the day's uniform combo? I think there's enough combos and interest that it would be fun.

Is that confirmed? Was hoping that would be the case. Should look sweet.

Confirmed.

If we lose this one, the white helmets should be tossed into the James.

Here's a simple spreadsheet I made showing past choices this season. I have no inside information on future choices but we can start to narrow it down the later in the season we get.

No. Name a school that has improved recruiting by tweaking their uniforms every week. We just got our doors blown off by a team who just wears their uniforms. I don't know who came up with that ridiculous assertion that it helps recruiting but they're dead wrong. The schools who keep their uniforms pretty standard are the ones at the top. Everybody trying the uniform bit goes backwards.

TCU, Baylor, Oregon (except this year). Even Notre Dame and Ohio State to a limited extent. I named 5 that good enough for you.

If you don't like the thread don't read it.

You're wrong on every count. Those teams do maybe a game per year. I'll give you at least 20 where the program has gone in reverse.

OMFG!!!! Oregon does a game a year? TCU does a game a year? Please my entire restaurant is staring at me right now I am laughing so hard.

Oregon wears a new uniform every game thanks to Phil Knight. TCU and Baylor have both worn at least 5 different uniforms this year. Notre Dame has done about 3 different unis mostly helmets.

Oregon is the obvious exception. They have thrived on it. The rest have gone down the chute. TCU tweaks but doesn't do nearly as much. Plus, Oregon faced a bunch of recruiting violations. When the game is over I'll point out 20 programs who have tried to replicate this and have gone down the water slide.

Sorry, but I trust people(coaches) who actually talk to recruits and what they want over a fan.
It is no surprise that I have heard coaches say over and over again how recruits like "bling". I don't think by any means that it is THE thing that gets a student to a university, but it absolutely helps.

One with recruiting violations. I'll give you the rundown after the game of programs who have invested hundreds of millions of dollars and gotten worse.

Yeah, the feminization of America...

Call it what you want, but it's a reality of today's recruiting game. Almost every FBS school has some form or forms of alternate uniforms.

Heck, we busted out alternate black uniforms for my son's 10-12 year old team today and you would've thought those boys won the lottery.

It matters. There are a bunch of other things that go into the recruiting formula but you can't deny this is one of them.

Well if it's all about uniforms and helmet designs ,.. Why players game???

We have no "tradition". We have played the game of tackle football for less than 45 years ..... ! Make your own tradition and it is continual process. It begins with winning, regardless of what the uniform looks like. Win more than you lose season after season.
