I will give him this, though. Iowa's cross-division schedule this year is Maryland and Indiana. Ouch.

Gotta love the gullibility of the internet crowd! This was put on by an outside group that was poking fun at all three schools. Do you realize just how far fetched this skit was? I can't think of a single family I know where the father is an Alabama alum and his small children are Auburn fans, or vice versa. And do you know how many conversations in this state include references to Iowa football? I would be just about zero.

I thought it was a good jibe at all three.

As for the Hawkeyes it's shaping up nicely for a shot at 12-0. As for the strength of any of the PAC schools, or Pitt for that matter, we'll have to wait and see. Northwestern was stout at the beginning of the season but depth is beginning to wear thin.

If the mother went to Auburn, then its possible for the boys to like Auburn. We have all seen plenty of stories about houses divided in Alabama. It's not that far of a stretch, you are overplaying the gullibility. If that is a sketch by someone that isn't an Alabama fan then he isn't making fun of Iowa so much as he is making fun of Alabama folks due to what he says.

JR just can't imagine an Auburn fan allowing a family member to be a Alabama fan. He would have kicked his Dad out of the house.04-cheers

Well if my father had been a Bammer he would have kicked my butt out and I would have gotten DNA testing.

That explains why the kids have Auburn hats and the Dad has an Alabama hat.

My take on Iowa is that it is damn hard to go undefeated in college football.

Congrats to the Hawkeyes.

Some real zingers in that one. "like Nebraska relevance", "That sounds complicated. I don't think from an SEC school other than Vanderbilt could understand it ."

RE: Humor @H1: Talk to your kids about an undefeated Iowa (before it's too late)
Current Sagarin SOS ratings for top unbeaten teams:

Iowa .... #47
Clemson ... #28
TCU ....... #53
Baylor .... #104
Ohio State ... #68
LSU .... #37
OK State ... 70
Michigan State ... #59

Average: 58.25

Other high-ranked teams with one loss:

Alabama .... #9
Notre Dame ... #16
Florida ......... #15
Stanford ....... #23
Utah ............ #19

Average: 16.4

Two things stand out for me. First, Iowa's schedule SO FAR is no better/worse than the typical unbeaten P5, and is clearly better than Ohio State, Michigan State, or Baylor. So there is no rational basis for complaining about Iowa's unbeaten record right now any more than any other unbeaten team's record.

Of course, what DOES stand out about Iowa is looking forward: Their schedule is soft the rest of the way, whereas the other unbeatens all have big regular-season challenges remaining. E.g., Ohio State has to face Michigan and Michigan State to get to the B1G title game, Iowa does not. Baylor's schedule will improve dramatically once they play TCU and Oklahoma. That is what seems "unfair" about Iowa, that by the end of the regular season, they will have avoided top teams.

The other thing that stands out is the difficulty of the schedules of the teams that have one loss. Their schedules have been, collectively, MUCH tougher than those of the unbeatens. So they may very well be as good or better as the unbeatens, they just have played tougher schedules.

I like one of the comments on that video:

"SEC fans are acting like girlfriends to this video- they can't take a joke so they start bringing up stuff from the past."

It's even funnier because most of SEC fans are taking it in good humor :)

Is Iowa's remaining schedule unfair? Maybe. Do we care? Nope. Hell I wouldn't even care if we ended up ranked #5. Then we could complain about how we were screwed without ever having to worry about proving to everyone that we really shouldn't have been there......

It would be a nice stepping stone for the future. Either way it goes, I think Iowa fans care less about Iowa's ranking than everyone else. We are just happy with how it is going.

Disingenuous on two counts. If you don't care about how soft your B1G schedule is compared to the other top B1G teams, it's because it is "unfairness" working to your advantage, enabling you to go unbeaten and thus be in the CFP discussion while other top teams knock each other off.

And like fans of all schools, OF COURSE you care about what your ranking is. Of course you do. 07-coffee3

Ahhhh ignorance at it's finest. That is ignorance mixed with ego.

For Iowa, we never know week to week when that streak will end. So for us, we aren't looking at each week as playing some softie. Every week is a challenge for the team and they continue to rise to each challenge. The team is not full of stud athletes.

As for the second, no I don't care what the ranking is. It is very simple and you should be able to understand, not sure why you cant. If Iowa goes undefeated and then goes to the Conference Championship game then they win and get in, if they lose then they get a great bowl game. Either way the Iowa faithful win this year considering the expectations preseason.

I know you understand that, you just cant help yourself when it comes to me. You have to find the conspiracy behind my posts, or whatever.
