B1G West - Week 9
11AM (Central):

Illinois (4-3) at Penn State (6-2) -- ESPN2
Nebraska (3-5) at Purdue (1-6) -- ESPNU
Rutgers (3-4) at Wisconsin (6-2) -- BTN

230PM (Central):

Maryland (2-5) at #10 Iowa (7-0) -- ABC/ESPN2

600PM (Central):

#15 Michigan (5-2) at Minnesota (4-3) -- ESPN

- Free wins today for Iowa and Nebraska

- Looking for Illinois to lose

- I'm hoping Rutgers plays Wisconsin more like they played Mich St than like they played Ohio St. An upset in Madison is probably too much to hope for, but I'll cross my fingers anyway

- Minnesota is at home, in prime time, on Halloween night. Should be sold out, kids will be dressed up. Team will be very emotional, fired up to win for freshly retired Jerry Kill.

None of that means they'll win. But it sure would be a great victory to pull off. Then they'd just have to beat Illinois to go to a bowl.

So much for that free win for Nebraska. That program is falling fast.

Free win, OP. there is no such thing as a free win with Coach Riley. He is horrible. Has only defeated 2 FBS teams since 2013.

yeah, if it wasn't for him being in year 1, I think he'd be gone after this year. Think he gets 1 more year to prove himself.

RE: B1G West - Week 9
Obviously this year has been an extreme frustration for Nebraska fans.

Lost to BYU on a last play hail mary, Miami in OT, Illinois on last play, Wisconsin on last play FG (after he missed the one before that), NW by 2 points.

Granted, the Purdue loss was probably not a great loss.

But it could've been a much different year.

RE: B1G West - Week 9
Updated B1G West standings after week 9 (conf):

Iowa 8-0 (4-0)
Wisconsin 7-2 (4-1)
NW 6-2 (2-2)
Minnesota 4-4 (1-3)
Illinois 4-4 (1-3)
Purdue 1-3 (2-6)
Nebraska 1-4 (3-6)

- Wisconsin and Penn St made easy work of Rutgers and Illinois, respectively

- Iowa did not dispatch Maryland quite as easily, but no surprise that they win

- Nebraska can't take care of Purdue, after all

- Football gods piss on Jerry Kill, one of the most well liked and deserving men to coach the game

Purdue likely happened because Nebraska's spirit seems to be crushed after all those close losses. I wouldn't bet on Nebraska this year for any more wins. They play MSU next and will likely get crushed. Then they travel to Rutgers. Rutgers can score, if Purdue can put up that many on Nebraska then watch for a basketball score by Rutgers against Nebraska. They finish off their horrendous season by getting massacred at home by Iowa.

We will see if they can bounce back next year but their spirits are absolutely crushed this year.

Iowa didn't dispatch Maryland easily? Seriously? Did you watch the game? Those fourth quarter points by Maryland are laughable at best. Iowa owned that game.

Iowa Nebraska is a trophy game now. A cornfield rivalry, or something. I don't know much about corn/pig country.

But it's in Lincoln and Nebraska will need something/anything to claim salvaging the season.

A win over undefeated Iowa would be just the thing.

I did say "not quite as".

But regardless, much less biased people seem to agree with me:

Their words are "less than perfect". What I said was that Iowa controlled that game the entire time. They aren't agreeing with you, you are just deluding yourself as you generally do.

In other words, they exactly agree with me that Iowa did not win quite as easily (as Penn State and Wisconsin did).

Thanks

Wrong. I actually talked to them and mentioned your name about this. They agreed with me and everyone else that you are an idiot.

Thanks.
