While I don't think the Police did anything really wrong, why didn't they just roll up next to her and tell her to walk on the other side of the road and then drive off?

Because she was walking in the middle of the road. Hard to pull up beside her without hitting her. LOL

She was breaking the law and the officers made a quick safety stop. They recorded the contact with her only after she started getting snippy with them. If she had just said "Sure thing officer" that might have been the end of it.

FTR here are the relevant Texas Laws

In Texas a a pedestrian 541.001 (3) Must:
follow traffic signals 552.001
Walk on available sidewalk 552.006
or Left side / shoulder, facing traffic 552.006

Cop once stopped me in a park because my dog was on an e-leash and not a physical leash. I answered yes sir / no sir to all his questions and then put my dog on a leash.

Again, I'm not saying they did anything wrong but why give some mouthy ******** an opportunity to make a stink out of you doing something nice?

In today's climate of leftist and media fueled police hatred most departments I know require that any time their officers deal with someone for violating the law, even for something as insignificant as this, that they create a record of it and video it if possible. In this case it's probably a damn good thing they did because this leftist witch was going to make a big deal out of this even if they did what you suggested, the only difference is there wouldn't have been a video to prove her a lying POS.

I've seen comments elsewhere asking why they asked for her ID, same situation. One of my friends says their Chief requires them to issue a standard warning ticket anytime they are dealing with anyone in regards to the violation of a law, even if it were something in the recent past where they would have just said "Hey....don't do that".

You don't get to decide when the media leaves you along. She was probably banking on that in the beginning.

Irony.

Where's Fit? Usually he jumps on these race-based threads like a "peaceful protester" on a liquor store.
