That being said, the game we played early in the season was not close and was not in any danger of being a loss for us. Half the crowed rolled out in the 3rd quarter. I hate that, but they are spoiled when we have big leads. I can't wait for 2 weeks against Marshall and LaTech. Afterward, that'll be the time for talking.
Funny, because for anyone who actually knows anything about football, USM is clearly the best team in the west and will win the west. La Tech and the retread QB is not gonna get it done against USM.
As far as WKU goes, very inconsistent team and beatable. ODU was very much in that game, and Marshall actually plays defense. WKU had 2 games against teams that play defense, pressure the QB and have team speed. Vandy, and LSU. They held WKU to 17 pts average (off the top of my head but i think its 17). I expect Marshall to hold WKU to 24 or less and our offense is beginning to get better and better, and we will be healthy after the bye.
I believe we win 35-24 or thereabouts. Funny to see people disrespecting Marshall. They apparently never learned that defense really does win championships.
YOur defense does appear really good....Hard to see a repeat of last seasons game, but we heard how dominating your defense was all last season too and then we put up 67...Funny how Marshall and la. Tech fans say we are struggling, however if you look at Marshall down the stretch last season they struggled against FAU and UAB and La. Tech lost to ODU...They get passes, however WKU only wins by 25 and we suck, our defense is worn out, etc, etc..

Congratulations WKU on the road win at our house. We had very little chance to pull off the upset, but many ODU fans were pleased that our offense showed a pulse. Your offense is terrific an very hard to stop, particularly with the big TE involved. You were clearly the better team.
Good luck the rest of the way.

And good showing by your fans who made the trip. Perhaps not in numbers, but certainly in involvement and in class.

I was thinking the same thing.

I was impressed with the ODU offense. Bentley has potential to be a good QB, his biggest weakness was zeroing in on one receiver and not going through his reads. Fortunately Pascal & Duhart are pretty solid receivers and made catches while being guarded.
Lawry is a terrific back and made some nice runs. I am shocked that they failed to score at home against Appalachian State and only put up 24 on Norfolk State. They are much better than I thought they would be.

Turnovers are a killer...for the most part they didn't have those against Western. I believe ODU has played a few games in very rainy conditions
While Western left a few receivers wide open that ODU qb was dropping some perfect throws...right on the money. To extend drives

+1 on the TE comment. He was a beast. Looks like frigging gronkowski out there. He may have a chance at the next level.

I think (hope) that it's a matter of just growing up a bit. The potential to be very good is there.
