Rest of the FB Season
Hm Bell maybe hurt again and Rachwal added to the already walking wounding list.

Need to not to lose focus for the remaining November games and try to end the season on a positive note with a couple of wins.

I have to say Toledo and NIU fans who posted were gentlemen, I already have a heavy dislike for a majority of the WMU posters, the latest posting pisses me off.

Awww the WMU posters hurt your feelings. You know what pisses me off? That the program is as low as I can ever remember, that the coaching staff is in over their heads and we are stuck with Creighton for 4 more terrible years, that we had just over 3k for a home game against a rival on a Thursday night on national TV, and that Heather Lyke is a complete buffoon.

Hey kids, come to EMU! We wear wacky uniforms that are not even in are school colors--we're rebels! and we play on gray turf...in a cement stadium...with no fans it...and (voice trails off)...

Hey Bob, I hope every EMU football player and coach reads your posts. Best inspiration to go and kick someone's ass including yours.

How many EMU football and basketball games have you attended this year Bob? How many $$$ have you donated to EMU ever?

Well I don't always agree with Lyke but you aren't the AD and I imagine your management skills were running a lemonade stand when you were a kid. I'll give credit to Heather for the teams winning the Cartwright and Jacoby awards symbolizing overall Athletic excellence in the MAC. Again football isn't the only sport at EMU and we have lots of successful programs. A EMU fan would recognize and applaud this but then again I forget you're not a fan you a Walmart Spartan wanna be.

I'll still never forget the time he was openly rooting for Keno Davis and CMU this past winter during our basketball game. Or that he gave up on supporting the football program earlier this year (yet he still posts here everyday...weird). I'll never respect any "fan" that roots against his own school.

What Bronco fans have been posting here? Granted I haven't browsed every thread, but I'm not seeing any influx of WMU posters.

I posted in the WMU Week thread, but only to say that I was a bit nervous about the game given our performance there in recent years.

Where to start? I don't live in Michigan but I am in SE Michigan every month. When I moved back to Michigan briefly in 2011, I decided to live in Ypsilanti and I had season tickets and coach English rewarded that decision with a competitive team that didn't get their asses kicked every game like this glorified intramural coach we have now. When Creighton coached at Drake, nobody, NOBODY talked about Creighton or Drake football in Des Moines. He and they were a non-entity. Leave it to EMU to hire a guy that nobody was in line to hire! Classic, EMU. They can't get anything right.

The hot coach at the time in Iowa was Northern Iowa football coach, Mark Farley. They were probably afraid that he would turn them down.

Football is not the only sport at EMU but it is the face of the athletic department and they are embarrassing the university with their ineptitude. Lyke has to go.

Wow, Lyke and the athletic department is doing great things.

An AD doesn't recruit, turn around the the (football) team's reputation, etc.

Other than FB, the athletic department is in very good shape and I mean on and off the playing field.

Dear Bob,
Let's use some common sense in your responses. Cement stadium? All stadiums have a majority ingredient built into them: Cement. This was a week night game, with a forty-five degree temperature, and on television. With the current record of Eastern's team, do you really think with the above mentioned that you were really going to have a sold out stadium? People can sit at home and watch the game. It's a work night, most people had to go to work the next day, and the game didn't end until 11:30. I think your expectations are out of whack.

RE: Rest of the FB Season
Valenti and Foster were talking about Lyke's decision to drop the MSU game earlier this week...Monday? Maybe Friday last week. They were laughing about EMU basically turning down the opportunity of having a sure sellout, something we will now ever see in our lifetime. Valenti said something to the effect, "Good job Eastern, you get Missouri for like $10 more! You could have had the only sellout in your school's history!" They proceeded to laugh and Foster said, "what is wrong with you Eastern?" Valenti responded, "everything!" More laughter.

That is the 50 second coverage EMU gets on Detroit radio. We are comic relief. Lyke's awful decision about MSU, the gray abandoned factory concept, the stupid gray turf has taken a bad situation and turned EMU into a laughingstock.

If you love EMU, you have to be heartbroken or just completely apathetic.

Dear Bob,
I don't know who these two buffoons are, so I take what you have said with a grain of salt. Why the constant rant about the Michigan State game? And, for your information, Eastern has had sellouts in the stadium. Oh, and by the way, Eastern will receive more than the ten dollars the buffoons claim by playing Missouri.

Actually Bob the number is 1.25 million but you like the rest of the media that dumps on EMU doesn't care to know the facts or do any research about the school or its overall athletics. The grey field by the way got voted as one of the top 10 in ESPN fan poll again another fact that you chose to ignore while you droll over your MSU T shirt. But here's an opinion many on this board share about you and that is that you are a more of buffoon than our football program.

Motown, I've read the crap that Mr Chipdip posts and others on your board post about Ypsi and EMU although I've never had the distinction of being sued for posting something like Mr Chipdip. I've heard about how we have poor academics, the third rate school convicts for basketball players etc etc. Quite frankly it gets tiring I can handle a bit of smack if its based on facts and I'll point out that in regular season hoops EMU and WMU break even and we actually made it further in the MAC tourney last year than WMU. I used to work in Kazoo and there are parts of Kazoo that make Ypsi look like a resort. Enjoy your day in the sun with football, our time will come around again.

Fair enough, I thought you meant posting on this board.

I'd soften your praise of other MAC school fans though. There's been no shortage of attendance smack, "kick 'em out of the MAC", crime references, etc. over the years from others as well.

Let's be clear. Bob IS NOT an EMU fan. He is an MSU fan, and an EMU troll.

Also have inside information that his son plays tuba in the band, and is an expert gamer. Bob pretends Bobby Jr. plays football, just as he pretends to know anything about football.

Actually my son starts at LB and RB for one of the top schools in Michigan...they will be playing tonight in the playoffs--his FOURTH varsity playoff appearance. He will star tonight in front of probably a bigger crowd than last night's EMU game. Ford Field or bust!

Let me repeat:

I (we) have seen the MSU/EMU contract.

The way it is written MSU had a 500K buyout clause which is peanuts.

The person I spoke with inside EMU told me they never expected MSU to come here.

They expected MSU to take the buyout clause because it was to their advantage. The buyout clause, over time, had become chump change in the world of FBS game guarantees.

As far as folks on the air giving opinions about the move, I would like to repeat a quote I heard 25 years ago:

"Opinions are like a*sholes, everyone has one."
