Spillane
Chop block to the knee looks like an ACL to me.

RE: Spillane
He couldn't put too much weight on his left knee, on the sidelines. He left with the aid of crutches.

RE: Spillane
What is it with the Seagulls and intentionally injuring some of our star players through the years?

RE: Spillane
That could cost us. Our big 3 is coming up. I want to say I worry too much, but he's too much a good player. Just sayin'.

Remember in 2001 the Seagulls knocked Welsh out of the game due to injures sustained in the pile after the whistle had blown, while bodies were being pulled off. Later on it was discovered that Jeff had a broken rib and a punctured lung. He was forced to miss the NIU game in DeKalb and that was the beginning of the end of the Darnell era, only j t took a few years to catch up to him. It was NIY's homecoming, their first win over us since 1988 and it put them back in the race for the MAC West. They won 20-12.

RE: Spillane
A single EMU blocked Spillane at knee level. TV replay showed it clearly. A chop block is an attempt by an offensive player to cut block (block at the thigh level or lower) a defensive player who is being blocked above the waist by another offensive player.

Good technique. He chopped him like a pro. Pinned the foot while rolling the knee. Guys thaT do that stuff almost always end up with some byproduct of bad karma. Or maybe it was just an unlucky accident. Who knows?

Yep. If it looks like a snake and sounds like one, it must be! :)

Oh yeah, John. Thanks for mentioning it. I was thinking of that very same thing last night. Dirty pool, courtesy of EMU. At least this current coach seems to have more class than to let his players pull that kind of stuff.

Anytime Whinny. On a side note, since my fingers are largert than the letter keys, I really need to remember to proofread my messages.
