I live in Washington... things have changed over here.
Many companies only test you if you get hurt. Even some of the larger ones that aren't based in this state.
Which is a problem, because this is by design. They know that it gives them leverage to deny claims if they get a positive drug test despite the fact that test in no way shows intoxication at the time of the accident. It just so happens that Marijuana, being fat soluble, stays in ones system far longer than any other drug on the drug panel despite the fact it's easily the least harmful to the user.
I don't disagree, but it's at least a step in the right direction. I used to get tested during or directly following every interview.

the funniest out of all this is the company thingy.....
I could've gotten tested (follicle) if I got injured (25+ up until 10 yrs ago)
I just figured if I suffered a paper cut, I wouldn't report it as an injury....
y'all crack me up with the comments about....weed....and I'm boned'r than the stoned'r right now....
