Parking is $10 a $5 hike over previous years. Sure $35 might not sound like much, but for a family of four its pays their cable bill and Internet for the month by watching it on tv. $35x4=$140 +$10 for parking. $4 gets you a cold small piece of pizza. I'm not just bitching to *****. I am just frustrated with the lack of communication and marketing that they do. For God's sake they have one of the best sales programs in the country. You would think that could and should equate to having good sales and marketing people selling the Toledo brand and getting butts in the seats.

I'm a huge rocket fan. I drove to Durham,NC to see the basketball team play Duke, I've bought jerseys in the auction (that I had to call the university to find out where and when the auction was because it wasn't listed anywhere). My family has been season ticket holders for football and basketball since they played at Centennial hall. Our biggest complaint has always been the lack of game day atmosphere which gets the average fairweather fan to become a season ticket holder and diehard fan. When high school recruits turn on the TV and see a jam packed glass bowl on a Tuesday night is it worth it to sell tickets at a very reduced rate (or give them away) to make that happen? I think so.

I have a group of 14 people going(they all graduated from other universities), most have never been to a UT game. You know why they are going? I was able to get free tickets. What if two people end up getting the fan plan next year if they have a good time, see the value of the fan plan and become life long rocket fans.

Until demand is higher for tickets, my opinion is get butts in the seats because it will show recruits and the people watching at home that Rocket fans will show up any day of the week to watch a game and pack the place.

Thank-you for the information.

Toledo gets far more people to a FB game than any other MAC school.
Bad weather in the Midwest and the ease of watching televised games, makes it much harder to attract large number of fans.

Our concessions at NIU stadium also suck.

The cost of attend Rocket Athletics goes beyond $10 parking. Just received my 3rd red light/speeding ticket after attending a University function. I can't afford tickets and $120 ticket every six months.

UT will be holding a pep rally tomorrow at noon. If a pep rally on the actual day of the game doesn't entice more students to actually go into the stadium for the game, I'm not sure what will. I really hope we have a strong student turnout. When I went last year to Niu, the side I sat on was basically all students and it was a pretty nice turnout considering how freezing it was.

Usually those can be avoided by driving the speed limit and stopping at red lights.

I thought it was unconstitutional to be presumed guilty until proven innocent, which is exactly what those damn speed traps are? I don't endorse those at all, especially the ones they set up at the straightaway side of a 3 way intersection (U-Hills & Douglas/Westwood), or the middle of the AW Trail to stick it to tourists looking to visit one of the city's main attractions.

That really sucks!

At NIU we have police in small towns trying to cash in on NIU FB fans driving to DeKalb.
Given that time is at a premium on week nights, FB fans should receive a bit of a break on speeding during game night.

One does not drive 4.25 hours each way to buy a $7 slice of Pizza.

Any reasonable hotels nearby?

There's a Red Roof Inn on Secor about a mile from campus and near the entrance ramp to the expressway. Frankly, there are three hotels on the other side of Secor - one of them brand new - and with any kind of negotiating skills you should be able to get a room for about the same price. Tuesday night in November I'm sure they need as many guests as they can get.

For $7 you can just go to Gino's Pizza for their lunch buffet. It's very good; the slices are small, so you can try a lot of different things. The $7 game day slices at the stadium are about the same size--about the size of a Dorito. I like Gino's and appreciate their sponsorship, but they need a reality check. It wasn't $7 last year. It was $4, and I thought that was outrageous enough, because their slices are about the size of a Dorito.

It wouldn't be so bad if the serving was commensurate with the price. But, the serving is about the size of a rice krispy square. They must make the pie for about 3 bucks and sell it for $125. Then a few days later a couple guys in a black car show up at your house and tell you they think maybe you should pay a little bit more for that slice of pizza you ate at the game last Saturday.

Don't forget, there are some really nice hotels in the Alexis and Telegraph Rd area. I believe the Rainbow Hotel was just renovated. It has new mirrored ceilings.

and it's an old, congealed slice. Agree with what's been said, it's a poor excuse of a Gino's slice, they shouldn't permit it.

They should install an oven. Several ovens. Cook that stuff up real time.
