RE: AUBURN BASKETBALL INJUIRES??
Everyone keeps saying we were horrible on the road last year and that's just not true. By wins and losses, yes. We lost by an average of 4 points in the 6 road games we lost in conference. Also, one of those losses was double over time by 9. Given that 3/5 of our players who had the most minutes were freshman, I look at it as we were 2 possessions away each game from being a really great road team with a bunch of kids on the floor.

We still lost. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it's by 1 or 21. We have yet to prove we can consistently win road games.

I would be more inclined to view things like BlazerGold09, but those teams that we lost to on the road were mostly horrid teams. No excuse to lose to them by 2, 4, or a million. We gotta get it done on the road this year, or its CUSA tourney or bust..

We lost on the road to some crappy teams in conference. No offense to the crappy teams.

Should also point out that most of last year when we lost on the road to crappy teams, we were also a crappy team.

I think we win three true road games this year before conference play starts.

Counting ECC games as neutral site games I hope?

I think we beat Auburn, Troy and USF on the road. Hopefully Illinois State too. So, no I wasn't counting neutral site games.

(Factor in some injuries along the way)

I'm going to say I expect to win a lot more on the road this season. I am no going to point to last year as a reason I should not expect to win.
I think it is perfectly understandable why we lost on the road last year. I also think it is perfectly understandable why we should expect to be a lot more successful on the road this season.

RE: AUBURN BASKETBALL INJUIRES??
They relied on the scoring outside of Harwell and the driving of the fat boy inside.

They graduated most guards - Duncans when signed in the fall by Pearl was announced as the Auburn's answer to outside shooting problem despite shooting 3s only low 30s % as a freshmen as a sophomore his 3s fell to lows 20s %.

Purifoy is/was their shot at an inside scorer but has been held up NCAA clearing house. It is hard to feel sorry for Auburn. Purifoy committed to Maryland which placed him at HMC after looking at full transcript dropped him. Rumors on auburn board say both his ACT score rose way too much and after HMC he took numerous online courses but could not verify that he actually took courses

Auburn might struggle even without injuries but at least Pearl will have an excuse

That's disappointing. I wanted them to have everyone, including Barkley and Person and Marmaduke Ndjiaye or whatever the hell his name was, when we beat the hell out of them. Not interested in hearing their bammerish drivel about "if'n Jeremy hain't got hurt we done won that."

If Tosin were healthy, I doubt we'd have lost those last two conference games.

Hell, we were also so damn young.

RE: AUBURN BASKETBALL INJURIES??
I get why Coach Hasse would say it, but it stings to hear we were only good for one week last season (but what a week it was!). If I was a player, it would make me breathe fire to hear that...and God help any team that's got to face us when we're mad...especially Cokely.

This team grew by leaps and bounds during conference season last season. Every home game we got better, and it was amazing to watch. We definitely had a lot WTF losses on the road, but obviously they taught the guys something come tourney time.
