Tried and true GOP cheap audience pleasers.

1) Attack the media for asking you tough questions
2) Blame the debate moderators for asking tough questions

He is the only one up there who is articulate and gifted at oratory.

It's a shame his actual policy history as Governor is pretty damn awful.

Or

1) Attack the media for turning the debate about substantive content into the Jerry Springer show.
2) Blame the debate moderators for participating in #1.

I agree.

Of all the people up there he speaks the best. He is a great speaker and is quicker and sharper on his feet than any other person running, left or right.

I like some of his populist message as well but I'm in the camp that says he is unelectable, which I find to be a shame.

My Round 1 winners

Rubio and Cruz

Trump did okay Carson wasn't prepared for the moderators to attack his policies so he looked bad.

I've always thought that Huckabee is better suited to the House or Senate than the Oval Office.

I've always thought Jeb was a nice, honest guy but he needs to go ahead and drop out. He just doesn't have it.

Jeb is terrified of saying he'd raise taxes even at a 10 to 1 cut deal.

Damn these CNBC hosts are killin' it. No BS allowed. I love it, just talk about the issues. If you don't answer a question, that's it - you talked about something else. Again, I feel like Carly is doing well. EDIT: Take that back. Government doesn't cause all of our problems, dear. You're a little off.

RE: Republican Debate Thread
We've had all these hours of debates ... and no red meat for me yet. I want the question Ron Paul knocked into low earth orbit in 2011: What would you cut? What -- SPECIFICALLY -- would you cut?

And Ron Paul said "Let's start with the Departments" and started rattling off Departments. Education, HUD, Energy....

If he and Kasich would drop out and endorse Rubio it would be best for all concerned.
