Wrong.

Quote:Saturday, the scrimmaging is different as Mississippi State invited UAB over for a ‘secret’ competition. It is secret in the sense that no fans or media can attend, nor information—including statistics—be publicized. Howland isn’t concerned with p.r. on this point though.

I can only imagine what the substitution patterns were for both sides so I wouldn't read anything into any of this.

That's all I need to know, Haase has some bad ones at times. So now we've lost s secret scrimmage and a exhibition under Haase. Smh

Heard we lost by 7 or 8. MSU vastly improved. I wouldn't worry too much. It's a scrimmage. It means as much as us killing them in a scrimmage and tanking under Davis. It's a scrimmage.

I dont think that was a knock on Haase and his substitution patterns, I think it was who knows who was playing and for how long. I'm not worried about losing a scrimmage at an Sec arena with nobody present. He could've played Lewis and Smallwood for big minutes just to see what he has.

I know you aren't a huge fan of Haase, but damn this is nothing to worry about.

I assumed he was trolling. Anyone who knows anything about basketball knows to not take scrimmages seriously. Maybe that is why they keep these things secret so uninformed fans don't jump off a cliff.

Without any details my worry meter is only at a 1.0. I remember we always supposedly ran the other team out of the gym under Davis, and that usually wasn't a good harbinger for the season...

The one fairly consistent thing among the secret scrimmages? LOTS OF FOULS CALLED. Everyone needs to be patient early in year. Again.

I know it wasn't a knock on Haase from BB25 , but I do wonder his substitution he has terrible ones from time to time. Great don't worry about losing to an below average sec team. I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come like Pembroke last year.

After pembroke, people thought we might not win ten games last year. No matter how it happened, we won the conference tournament and won an NCAA game. I get the route we took wasn't ideal, but those were vastly different circumstances. Losing a scrimmage at an sec team and losing an exhibition at home that people paid to watch are vastly different.

Is it about time to start bitching about him holding onto timeouts again too?

Well Haase can only take 3 with him to the second half this year so that helps. 05-stirthepot

Shoot...after non conference play, I was still worried we wouldn't win 11

Everyone is happy about the Iowa state win believe me, but we all remember where the program was the week before. Heck I'm a UAB fan I get upset if they drop a cheerleader competition but i know they cant win them all.I just want the guys to know what they're playing for and how some past players would look at it.( like Miami football)

The greatest compliment I got for last year's team is they didn't lose in Birmingham. This year they're older still young and I'm looking for certain improvement.

I agree. I think a lot of people are forgetting how young we still are based off certain comments I've seen. I think we'll be okay, but I still think we'll have some hiccups younger teams have.
