Cincy, Houston and Memphis
IMO, two out of those three are probably going to be the teams to expand with the Big 12.
Oklahoma isn't leaving for any other conference right now.
I hope it is Cincy and Houston. Houston belongs in a P5 conference. They have a football history as well.

I don't think the Big 12 is going to expand...at least not anytime soon. However, if/when they do expand, I would be very surprised if UCF was not one of the teams it selected. They have more upside than any other G5 team, IMO.

I don't know man, Cincy (and Huston to some extent) better fits the profile of a Big 12 institution. UCF suffers from the same problem Boise State does - unprecedented athletic success and enrollment growth, with research and endowment size lagging far behind. UCF is a bit ahead of BSU, but still far behind any P5 school.

From a Cincy perspective, internet and twitter mentions are flattering but largely meaningless. A flurry of these during the B12 presidents' meeting was entirely predictable. And one rumormonger begets another.
I would be thrilled to see UC compete in the B12 but let's see a credible source corroborate any of these reports before jumping to conclusions.

The Big 12-2 will expand when it's ready and has candidates that are suitable. Other than maybe Louisville, prima-donna BYU, UConn and academic lightweight Boise, there isn't a single team out there they want and none that they obviously want.

I can see the correlation of Cincy moving the Boise st. series to 2024.

They are sure not showing that upside this year, IMO.

Cincinnati, Memphis and/or Houston could eventually very well end up in the Big 12. However, the underlying Twitter account in that Reddit thread has proven to be utterly and completely useless. (Realignment watchers will likely recognize it immediately as The Dude's West Virginia devil's advocate.)

Don't pay attention to those Twitter parasites. Mhver, DudeofMN and DudeofWV are Twitter parasites that make stuff up for attention. None of them have real sources.
The three schools I listed are just my guesses. I doubt UCF gets an invite.

UCF to the B12 has never made sense. Geography is a "Knightmare"
If the ACC felt compelled it could make sense to double down in Florida. Become the Florida version as to what the B12 is to Texas.

get a clue
https://ncsesdata.nsf.gov/profiles/site?...herd#a2477
in research and development UCF is ahead of Arkansas, Ole' Miss, Oregon, Syracuse, and Alabama
so they are ahead of 3 members of the SEC alone and one each of the PAC 12 and ACC

UCF would be an interesting play.

Someone did the average distances and UCF on average is nearly as far from the Big 12 schools as BYU.
If you are going to take an outlier, take a proven commodity.

UCF brings the Florida TV market, and could help Texas in recruiting for good plaYers from Florida. UCF's downfall was not finding an AD before the season started, and O'Leary had 2 jobs to do which interfered with his coaching duties.

I said maybe meaning not likely. If anything, they'll be looking at a Florida State type.

Big 12 will not get Florida State or any ACC, SEC, PAC 12 or Big 10 schools. Their only options are from the G5 and FCS schools. There are several strong and very strong academic schools in them like Colorado State, UNR, Cincinnati, Houston, Hawaii, New Mexico State, UAB, Southern Miss, Temple, Old dominion and so forth.
