Freedom Hall updates THIS year
I know there were a few things in the Freedom Hall thread, but thought i'd start a new one.

Has anyone heard what upgrades are in place for THIS season? Confirmation on the sound system?

I'll see if there is anyone I can ask tomorrow at the Holding Court event and get some more solid info on what is expected to be done and when.

I am fairly certain that a new sound system has been or will be installed before the season starts.

Improved sound would be great - it's difficult to hear, even in the second level. Almost impossible in the third.

Glad to see that the sound has been improved, also I do enjoy the new 2nd level wall coverings. I know they have started painting the lower level walls blue, and from what I understand, will have all the lower level blue very soon.

Totally!

At this point I simply DON'T CARE what they get to this year and what has to wait. I'll wait on chairs and scoreboards. No prob.

New sound ROCKS.

Let's set back and watch our Bucs DESTROY THE SOCON.

Improvement to sound system is greatly appreciated. I would suggest that they make one adjustment to the digital scoreboard. For me, the lights in Freedom Hall wash out the light greens and yellows in a couple of the categories. From my vantage point the white digits stand out the most clearly. I wish they would try making them all white or use some darker colors. If possible, a larger text would be nice.

If the roof will support it, a center hung scoreboard would work just fine in there based on the dimensions of the place.

If the city and uni want to work together on a full display (cube), it could enhance both games and concerts/events.

I don't think ceiling is high enough for a large scoreboard and lighting rigs for concerts.. Scoreboard could get in the way.

Watching pregame for Villanova on FS1 and it appears they have a video screen setup that would be a great fit Freedom Hall. Looks like they have 2 suspended in opposite corners. We'd sacrifice seating a little but I think a couple of these could work. Very interesting old facility they have.

RE: Freedom Hall updates THIS year
Would it be possible to stretch a screen over both glass enclosures at the top rows of freedom hall and use a video projector to solve the play by play video? It seems it could be done at relatively small cost and may be adequate until a more permanent solution is in place. May have to relinquish a few rows but it could it work. I'd like to see them lower the lights around the hall while the game is played. Kinda like they did in the dome.

Isn't that lighting in the plans for what the city is doing???

The old days cube at freedom hall was retractable. They pulled it up above where the tiles are today. I THINK there is more room up there above the tiles than we may think.

I vote for video boards around the rims of the seating. Kind of like what UT has at Neyland or what lots of MLB, NBA and larger NCAA teams have. A dream for sure, but with black seats, a middle cube board and this that place would be sharp

Something like the strip lights lining Oregons arena. Have them around the walkway between upper and lower levels and between the floor and permanent lower level.
