I'm not surprised the media put Toledo in second, but as I mentioned earlier, they're VERY light in experience on their roster. I don't believe they'll be at the bottom of the West, but this really looks like a re-building year for UT.

We still don't know how long Tava will be out for WMU, but that really hurts for them in the front court.

Is that a pre-season poll, or the standings from the end of last year. 03-lmfao

I think that is telling of the unknowns of college basketball especially the MAC. Who would have guessed CMU. Leads the division last year. Hopefully it is Eastern's turn this year. Wishful thinking on my part, perhaps

Good for Lee to get the early season recognition. Was he 3rd team all MAC at the end of last year? So this has him moving up...

I received my 'hard copy' version of Blue Ribbon yearbook.

They list LWH as one class short so he'll not be eligible. The article says they will redshirt him as I don't think he can practice, etc. first semester. Why waste a year of eligibility if by time he is in game shape and ready to go it might be February.

I assume he was not able to do 'Rock the Rec."

They list one returning starter. I count 2 or 3. Lee, Bond and Nazione.

It's actually better for us in the long run if LWH redshirts. Gives us Thompson, Madray, and LWH in the front court together for multiple years.

We may be small this year, but that'll be short term. As you have mentioned multiple times, we should be a legit MAC contender in 16/17. I still think this will be an exciting team to watch, though.

Yes, I have CLE marked down for March 2017 and maybe a trip to the NCAAs, as well.

March 2017 could be a little like March 1998, the last year EMU was really, really good.

Preseason MAC Hoops Media poll.
A friend of mine is close with Benny White. He said that this group is the hardest working they have had in Murphy's tenure. Not necessarily the most talented but hardest working. That bodes well, as in collegiate athletics it's usually the team that wants it most and busts their tails not the most skilled that wins out.

From what I've heard/seen in pictures, Raven Lee put on a lot of muscle. He looks like a tank, and a far cry from where he was 2 years ago. Should help to withstand the beating he will probably take this year from opposing defenses, as our focal point.

I was curious, so I compared his roster listings, and Lee's actually listed as 5 pounds lighter this year. But we all know those numbers are worth little.

I imagine bulking up a little won't harm those beautiful drives through contact to the rim.
