Shula Bowl XIV -- FIU @ FAU
Sure you said fiu could lose but that was pretty obvious.

A lot of your fan base was getting cocky and acting like you guys were so much better as a program. It was a complete joke.

I'm so glad that in a terrible season for us that we still could bring you guys back down to Earth. Knocking you out of a bowl most likely makes it even more satisfying

Well I was surprised and very pleased obviously. The FAU fan base has been very down, even the diehards like myself have been struggling with this season. As someone said on our forum the announcers last night said we are the 4th youngest team in the nation as far as starters. So all the talent that CP has been bringing in is starting to develop. We saw it last night. I now have some hope.

I look to Southern Miss as the example as in year 3, they are now bowl elligible after some very hard seasons.

Well your post was directed to me therefore I defended my position. I can't speak for every FIU fan out there. Although I must admit, I can't recall any FIU fan being cocky about this game. Saying that we should win is not being cocky. Even FAU fans were saying the same thing. We are the better team this year and should've won last night.

Shout out to the FIU fans that took the trip up. A very solid showing, something y'all should be proud of.

But most importantly, thanks for bringing the Shula Bowl Trophy back for our taking.

Best of luck the rest of the year guy!

Congrats to FAU. They kicked our butts yesterday. Very frustrating to watch as an FIU fan. Hopefully FIU will be able to upset Marshall or WKU to make a bowl game.

Well you guys continue to rack up those moral victories and "we beat the spread" pat on the back. We'll take the W in the record books and use those as markers on program improvement.

Not one post since the game??
Well the #fab15 you laughed at scored 3 times yesterday.

Shula Bowl XIV -- FIU @ FAU
Thank you FAU Owls for taking care of business yesterday. Our Rice Owls are still reeling from our wreck against Tech- but some of our fans haven't given up hope for the division.
It involves us beating USM (we'll be underdogs, even at home), and then USM knocking off the Bulldogs- but we also need FAU to stay hot and get to 4-4 in the division, at least take care of ODU and MTSU if you don't mind?!
I know you have played nearly every game close this year and that you are a threat to win every game. So keep it up and go get em again next week!!

Announcers did say FAU have played 27 freshmen this season and about 12 had started. Some of these guys will be starting three years into the future. I have a hope that FAU becomes a major force in the C-USA starting next season.

You may have been the better team this year, we were the better team Saturday night. You didn't throw away the game, we beat you on both sides of the ball decisively.

Kind of sounds like our squad this year, too. Shall we at least make a date for next year's conference championship game? Our place or yours?

I certainly do want another crack at Rice next year. FAU has lived through a lot of painful moments in the only two games we had played. Evil spirits need to be exercised.

I would really like Rice vs FAU to be an annual crossover game for us. The story lines kind of write themselves

Owl vs Owl
Private vs Public
History (While limited ALL the games so far have been close)
