Had he gone to Memphis I doubt he would still be playing basketball. He is definitely a case where he needed a whole new environment to mature and deal with his issues from childhood. His two years at the JUCO in Texas were vital in that process.

I was there for a little while this morning. Most entertaining answer/comment came from Larry Brown. The moderator asked something about the allowable practice hours and conditioning hours over the summer and Brown replied (paraphrased): "I don't like games, I like practice..."

All I could think about was the famous Allen Iverson clip...lol

I have a feeling that if Pastner leaves of his own accord after this season Marshall is on Memphis' short list.

Possible, but not probable. Marshall could have literally ANY job opening in American. No offense to Memphis, but the prestige isn't quite there and neither is the money to be out some of the other schools that will need coaches.

Yeah NBA arena and 16,000 fans is really lackluster

I like the idea of UMass because they are a natural rival and a short drive away for UConn and Temple who travel ridiculous miles.
However I would bring them with a condition, a 3-4 year trial in which they have to prove themselves on the court on the field and academics all that stuff and at the the end of the trial all the schools gather and vote to see if UMass has made enough progress and are serious about their athletic department.
