What does the ACC need with another basketball focused, football weak, small fanbased college in a pro town who rents a pro stadium they can't fill without bringing in a more popular local team? What does Temple bring to the table and how does it benefit the ACC to add them?

I'd love to trade Wake for Temple.

Kap and Marge are just politely saying "no thanks". That would be my vote as well. We already have a Pennsylvania team.

Temple would be an atrocious choice. If you have problems with Pitt and Miami, Temple's home attendance makes them look like Alabama and Texas A&M.

I'm a fan of Temple and would like to see Pitt play them more often but I can't ever see the ACC adding them. That said, they are a completely different market from Pitt, there is no overlap, so Jamin's argument that there is already a Pennsylvania team doesn't hold water.

That shut out in Tallahassee has left Marge forever traumatized.

I've been saying that for years and have explained it to you folks numerous times.

It boils down to one thing: Wake adds NOTHING - at all - to the conference.

You're a fine school with decent overall athletics, but you're of no use to the ACC.

I'm sorry you either don't like or can't handle the truth.

How about Newberry to the ACC?

FSU knew Wake was a member before they ever joined the ACC. Wake will never leave the ACC. FSU knows that.

So quit suggesting the conference kick us out at every opportunity in every thread that comes along. It gets old and you know the ACC will never do it.

We can just add 10,000 seats to our attendance like Pitt does and be at the same level. I know Heinz field better than you do and can guarantee your attendance is no where near what is reported.

Your AD still publicly begging Penn State for games?

RE: Would the ACC ever consider adding Temple?
Temple has potential but is a long way from being an ACC team. IMO this is what they would need to do:
- maintain 40K+ avg home football attendance for a few years.
- demonstrate some quality in at least one other sport, preferably men's basketball
- Ideally they would also improve their academic ranking, but it's not bad as-is

For now I'd have to classify Temple as "not ready for P5"

We'll discuss that when somebody besides a butthurt Temple fan brings it up.

One plus Newberry does have that Temple doesn't is they have never been kicked out of a conference for non-performance. Well that and the fact they haven't recently dumped multiple athletics programs in a money saving move.

Or you could quit reading threads discussing potential future ACC membership. As I said, you don't have to like that Temple would be more valuable than Wake, but it doesn't make it any less true.

Yes. Temple would be a good addition... However, only with a few preconditions. Sustained "good" football, an on-campus stadium with 40-50k seats, and a continuation of good basketball.

Keep telling yourself Temple won't be a candidate for the ACC (especially if the ACC creates a network). Maybe you should check with your so called "strong family connections at Clemson" to confirm if I know what I am talking about or not.

And as a proud graduate of Newberry, make sure to get your new Clemson t-shirt this weekend at Walmart.
