RE: William and Mary game preview thread
Now that we know Lee is definitely out the next biggest question is whether or not #50 for W&M Luke Rhodes will still be out?

JMU loses maybe the best offensive player in the nation. W&M loses one of the best defensive players in the nation: multiple time All CAA, All American last year, pre season All CAA and All American this season, only I-AA player on the Butkus watch list, will be playing on Sundays.

Article from a week ago: happened during their win over UNH:
W&M's Luke Rhodes out "for a while" with a sprained knee

If I were not rooting for the Dukes I would be investing in the Tribe.

Teams always play better with a chip on their shoulder.

I hope W&M isn't the one with the chip.

Last week I thought either we lose close or win big.

This week I think either we win close or lose big.

RE: William and Mary game preview thread
William and Mary has a big and talented offensive line and two very good backs and a big play receiver. Not sure if their QB is on Lauletta's level. They have played one bad game vs Delaware and we may soon find out that Delaware is tough to beat at home. Even with Vad I would have predicted us to lose this game because of Tribe running game. Hope we can still get to 9 wins.

I thought Schor looked good Saturday. Just needs more reps.

Whatever else goes on, we must stop the run. I would rather be beat by play action passes than watch another 5 TD 300 yd rushing effort.

Richmond chewed us up running and passing due to their O-line manhandling our D-line. Hopefully they will install a few defensive stunts to use against larger lines to get around them. (something I thought I might see in the second half Saturday, but didn't). I am hoping the D will tighten it up from here on out.

I've watched W&M on TV 4 times (vs SBU, UD, VU, & UNH). As far as W&M offense vs JMU defense:

Bad news:
-UR, who has a pretty good OL & RBs, ran all over JMU, and W&M's OL is at leas least good if not better. RB tandem in the CAA's leading rusher Kendall Anderson (ironically his older brother was JMU RB Jordan Anderson), & last year's leading rusher in the CAA last year in Mikal Abdul-Saboor.

Good news:
-W&M doesn't have the passing game like UR does. Their QB isn't the passer Lauletta is (Lauletta now leads the CAA in passing yds & pass efficiency) with those 2 stud WR (#1 & 2 in the CAA in receiving yards).
-W&M's Devonte Dedmon, 7th in the CAA in receiving yds, injured his his ribs in W&M's blowout win over Hampton. Laycock said x-rays were negative for fractures, bruised. So question is does he play and if so, how close to 100%/effective is he?

CAA stats bear this out:
W&M isn't as good as UR offensively (better running game, not as good a passing game),
W&M is far better than UR defensively, with Luke Rhodes, their all world LB..Without Rhodes they are still better..

Just overplay the run. As noted above, they aren't the passing team UR is with those 2 studs at WR that UR has, and W&M's best WR is banged up (if he even plays).

W&M's FG kicker Nick Dorka leads the CAA in FG per game (12 of 14)..

RE: William and Mary game preview thread
W&M came into last year's game leading nation in blocked kicks (I think it was punts and kicks. Was JMU prepared for that? No- W&M blocked 2, including 1 for a TD. Almost cost JMU the game. Last I looked W&M had already blocked 2 punts this year, and JMU has had at least 1 blocked (TU)..Need to be ready for that..

RE: William and Mary game preview thread
After watching both teams, its clear Richmond is a much better football team than the Indians. UR should handle WM easily in their game IMO - UR has a much better Quarterback and much more team speed overall and a pretty dominant O LIne. i think the WM defense was way over-rated. team speed not there that i kept hearing about.
We shot ourselves in the foot this game, had to battle the Ref's all game, and still had a chance to win the game on the road - all is not lost.
