Shamecock fans talk more crap than any other fans of traditional losers do...why is that? You don't hear Temple fans talking smack....you don't hear Duke fans talking smack, and Duke has more of a winning tradition than the Shamecocks do. Why is it South Carowhina fans have to be the biggest buttheads on any board they come around? You talk about the arrogance of UCF fans when they came to the MAC.....they were probably just following the lead of South Carowhina fans they met in 1996 & 1997.

Of the 12 Div 1-A teams SCU has played 20 or more times...they only have winning records versus three of them. Out of 119 Division 1-A teams, South Carowhina ranks 91st in winning percentage. Despite playing football for 112 years, South Carowhina has only one Conference Championship...less than Duke, Kansas, Baylor, Rice, and SMU. Boise State...a team that has been 1-A for only 9 years...has three conference championships.

South Carowhina....a team with so many braggart fans....yet only has one single 10 win season. A team where a four year record of 28-17-1 is called "The Glory Years" not because it was especially good.....but because it was the only four consecutive years they had winning records since before World War I. A team that printed a commerative book about a 9-3 season. A team who continually gets embarrassed by their so called "best fans in college football" on national tv when they are getting their butts whipped and the Shamecock faithfull evacuate Williams-Brice so fast they should give lessons to coastal counties around the South as to their method.

A Shamecock talking smack? If it wasn't for the fact that pretty much their entire classless fanbase has done it my entire life I would be shocked at the amount of smack that one of college football's all time losingest programs would be talking smack.

As a point of reference, most of us fans weren't arrogant about the MAC, we were thrilled. But there were two developments that made it seem so:

1) At the announcement of our joining the MAC, our athletic director (or maybe it was the university president) said what a thrill it was to join the Midwestern Athletic Conference. Ouch.

2) Former coach Mike Krucek thought it would be fun to stir up a little rivalry with Marshall by taking out a very ill-advised full page article in their local paper when we played there for the first time. Then we lost when Ryan Schneider threw an interception when we were driving for the winning score with very little time left in the game. Then he blamed it on the fact that Marshall's field is shaped like an upside-down V instead of being flat, and that's why he kept overthrowing his receivers.
