Woah.....

This is a big deal from a coach who won the first AAC championship and the Fiesta Bowl over Baylor.

Maybe he just had enough and it was the only way for him to get out of his contract with the school. I highly doubt school would usher him out mid-season after everything he has done.

Sometimes you health and sanity are all that really matters in the end. In My opinion He is a great coach and this season is not a reflection on His overall book of work. Good luck O'Leary.

I think making him an Interim AD might have caused the downhill spiral of UCF.

They find the first draft of his résumé?

Jk

In all honesty he did great things. It's fairly responsible of him to walk away when he knows he has lost his magic. UCF will be better off for that instead of him pulling a Phil Fulmer and burying the program before you walk away.

I'm sure that was just an inspection and rubber stamp job. Heck, that's basically what head coaching is, just with stronger veto power over the assistants and coordinators.

Do you really think O'Leary was sitting there reading over all of the SiD's press releases and calling all the maintenance people to take care of the stadium? I wouldn't think a 70-year old would be capable of doing all of that and being a head football coach. They probably just upped the amount of student interns to do more of the little jobs.

Once the good QB is gone it's a lot harder to have a good team.

If you are referring to Bortles....UCF was 9-4 without him last year and won the conference championship (tied w/ Memphis and Cincy). There's alot more to it than that.
