WKU deserves more than 18K a game. I'd be pissed if I were Brohm.

What school doesn't scan tickets on entrance? I find it hard to believe Marshall would report that if everyone else reports tickets sold...

I bet you're right. Everybody scans. Unless MU states this policy, they use tickets sold.

I don't know what they do but I remember after the Marshall-WKU game last year some Marshall posters here admitted that there weren't as many actual fans in the stands as the "official" posted attendance....which made me think they count sold instead of actual butts in seats. I assumed everyone did that.

I hate seeing Charlotte at the bottom, but when you consider two of our home games took place in terrible downpours, we basically offer one ticket price (we lower the price on general admission tickets for games we know people won't attend) and the fact that our stadium only seats 15314, our listed attendance of 15,248 isn't terrible. We'll have over 17K at the Marshall game. Can't wait for stadium expansion!

I have to say that the actual butts in seats seemed like over 27,000. I went to the concessions and got back around kickoff. I was very surprised by the turnout when everyone was in the stadium. Considering the rainand other factors, I was extremely happy with the turnout.

Why are WKU fans obsessed with Marshall attendance? I mean it seems like every other week one of these guys is making some Marshall ASSumption attendance thread comment. Let me bottom line it for you guys in Bowling Green. Our attendance isn't great, but (and this VERY IMPORTANT) it is much, much better than yours. It's not even comparable. You just look completely ignorant making attendance comments.

Would be interesting to see how these numbers stack up against the rest of the G5.

Wow...testy aren't we. I only responded because it's an interesting topic and numerous fans, from multiple schools, were intrigued that Marshall doesn't count tickets sold. I was merely relating the conversation I recall after last year's day after Thanksgiving game. Marshall should be proud of their attendance numbers, one of the best in the conference. Oh, and for what it's worth, a Marshall fan first posted something about WKU's attendance before a WKU fan mentioned anything about Marshall in this thread.

Charlotte looks to have a big upside in the coming years. Not worried about your attendance at all. And your team is being built the right way.

I hate to see UTEP attendance so low. It has been many years since it was this low but that's what getting clobbered in your first 2 games of the season, both on the road, will do for you. And following that up with a struggle to win vs a mediocre fcs team and a blowout loss to FIU on the road doesn't help. Hopefully next season will be better.

$190 for season tix ($31.67/game), with a discount for recent grads ($95 or $15.83/game). There is only one other price point: $100 endzone seats, but you have to buy between 2 and 4. That last part was new this season. It's essentially the unused seats by the students (who had far too many at 7,500).

Single game tix are pretty much $30 (there are a few $22 end zone seats, game by game basis) - which is cheaper than a season ticket. The seats are GA.

If/when expansion does happen, the program is going to have to re-think price points. They probably won't want to, but it would help attendance to have $20-$25 game tickets at decent seats.

Oh, I'm not. For three reasons.

Our 2015 attendance is up 1500 a game and that includes two rain soaked games. Marshall will be a well attended game. If we can get a few people in to see us at 2-8 play UTSA, we could run close to 100% attendance.

The students have showed up. I think the student tailgate at the FAU game started a huge buzz on campus. I think the Rich would have had 16000 for Temple game if not for the awful weather.

And lastly, Charlotte being last in attendance means that the two Florida schools have stepped it up as we have had better attendance this season than both of them in 2014. I'd love to see their crowds keep growing.

I'd love for us to do another FSL push for those end one seats. I think you could get a few young alums to buy a 500.00 FSL in the end zone.

RE: Updated attendance link, anyone?
It's not really worth delving into how the G5 conferences "stack up" on attendance, because what's normally announced are tickets sold (plus students admitted if they get in free with their ID). These figures vary wildly vs. actual "butts in seats" (maybe with the exception of Marshall if they are announced actual attendance), so it's pretty impossible to fairly compare conferences and individual schools. As far as the big boyz (P5) are concerned, there's not much difference between 15K and 25K anyway.

All of our tickets are $30 a game. Season tickets, reserved seating, and general admission. We have maybe 2-3 home games where the general admission tickets go down to $20. So that's what I mean by we basically have 1 ticket price. When we expand, we'll be able to give people more options and attract more people.

This is the first year we have used the scanners for tickets. I could be wrong as I usually am (according to my wife) but this is the first year we have announced actual attendance as opposed to tickets sold.

There's two reasons to not use butts in the seats accounting. Auditing for money collected. And using butts in the seat, you will never have a sell out. There's always some people missing a game, even with tickets.

Have y'all met? You are both talking about Charlotte, right? One list five different pricing scenarios and one says one to two.

RE: Updated attendance link, anyone?
I think the terrible losses to TT and Arkansas hurt our attendance up to the FIU debacle. If the weather hadn't been so horrible against Fau I think we would have had more fans. We had two lightning delays plus the rain was pounding a fan group that's not used to that wet stuff. My group of 6 left after the first delay, the weather plus the Miners weren't doing us any favors.

Then what does that mean with our sellout vs. Purdue? Does that mean it was a coincidence or did we not use butts in seats? The place was definitely packed, so I cannot figure out the answer.

Did you divide the CUSA total by 14? You did, didn't you? Remember, there are only 13 teams in CUSA counting towards the average. In addition, merely dividing the sum of the individual averages by the total teams is wrong. You need to find the total attendance and then divide by total games.
