I could see Cubit getting offered a deal to stay on with the Illini. He's done a nice job on the field and a great job off the field. Doing so would avoid a complete reset of the program. Campbell goes from Toledo to UCF.

The combination of his current record, very high $$ contract buyout and very strong returning roster will keep him here another year. GO BRONCOS!!!

Throw the 1-11 out, and he's winning. I think that's how it'll get presented.

15 new coaches got hired last year. We're already at 7. Who knows what openings will be there by 1/1.

RE: Bronco/Fleck Fans Should worry about UCF
P.J. gets crushed here at times for his overall record, which is fair in the context of how that may hurt his being considered for other future head coaching openings. I agree with the premise that a P5 school (and, to a lesser extent, an American school) is going to have serious reservations taking on a coach with a career losing record (unless that losing record includes a conference championship in the most recent season).

Having said that, though, FWIW after last Saturday's win over Miami, P.J. now has a winning record for his career in MAC play (10-9). Barely above .500 in league play isn't worth getting overly excited about at this point, but he has won 9 of his last 11 MAC games (including two straight victories over his archrival).

1. Will another school come looking for a sub .500 MAC coach? Or does the 1-11 record in year 1 really not matter if he continues to win now?
2. What does the idiot that decided to cover a $400k raise for his buddy think of all this? Lets say PJ doesn't get the look that everyone alleges he will. Does that make him think, "see, I kept him here by paying so much" rather than "he's not as hot a commodity as everyone thinks". Or IF PJ does get a bigger offer does he finally realize "hmmm, I guess the big boys really can outpay if they want to". And then does he step up to the plate to pay the next head coach as well? Or, just how much MORE is it going to take to keep Peej in Kazoo? Then again, he loves it here and has no intentions of ever leaving......wink wink.

I guess we'll all find out soon enough. My gut tells me that the hype for PJ isn't as big across the country as we are made to believe here in Kazoo. And him not leaving will be spun into his undying love for WMU and Kalamazoo. If another opportunity does come up, he will leave in a second.

And if/when he does leave, the fun will really begin in hiring a head coach and figuring out what to pay after that bar has been set ridiculously high.

What about skankasourus? She has quite the "gig" here in kazoo, that kind of "wild" might make a man reconsider everything important to him (again). I still think the trustafarian has some skin in the game there, don't you? Gut feel, does he part with both?!

Envious?

You're mistaking disgust for envy.

the one thing that confuses me is how so many believe Fleck has a loyalty to Western.

Name one thing/person this guy has been loyal to?

04-chairshot04-chairshot03-banghead How about taking the whole team to the funeral of a young man JOHN MULHERN who loved Western and died way to early . It was P.J. who had him run a touchdown at practice, It was one of the highlights of his life according to his god parents. This happened yesterday the day after the Miami game. It more than qualifies to anyone with a brain.
