RE: ESPN Power Rankings
Why the hell do both polls and these power rankings have Oklahoma ahead of Memphis? Memphis has a better marquee win (Oklahoma doesn't even really have one, although TT seems fairly solid), Memphis is undefeated while Oklahoma lost to a 3-4 team, and they share a common opponent who Memphis beat by 24 on the road and Oklahoma beat by 14 at home.

Because they're Oklahoma and Memphis is Memphis. That's pretty much it.

I have a real dislike for folks that merely reply........"Link", but I would like to see that list.

Based on remaining schedules, I struggle with seeing how that's possible. Some of those AAC programs play each other, which obviously puts some top 25 programs on their schedule.

Unless I've missed something, Toledo doesn't play a single top 25 rated program the rest of the season.

We have Tulane and SMU left which severely weakens our schedule strength.

We have more difficult games but we probably have much easier games as well.

I don't have the link but he is correct. I was looking at the power rankings last night and was throughly confused at how we were so low considering Navy, Temple, and Houston remain.

Blame Tulane and SMU for being horrible...

Since we want to win them all I would happily exchange schedules with anyone on that list except for Temple.

Would you trade your Schedule with Memphis' schedule?

OU is number 4 in sagarin, which is the rankings that most betting lines are set off of, a true "power ranking" without any eye test at all.

I think they're also ignoring the fact that the Tigers are riding the 3rd longest winning streak in FBS behind only Ohio State and TCU at 14 games with 8 of those being on the road.

For whatever it's worth, CBS sports power rankings have:

11. Memphis
17. Houston
18. Temple

Which could give the AAC an outside shot at the playoffs.

RE: ESPN Power Rankings
The game is rigged. Win out and and its because "your schedule was soft," even if it is demonstrably better than other people. Lose and you're out just the same.

It's like running for class president in high school - the ability to speak in public and actually govern is irrelevant. Are you pretty? Do people know your name? Who cares if you can play football and you just keep winning. Are you beating pretty teams? Do people know your name?

Ooooh shiny!

/stating the obvious

Here's what I'm cheering for:

Ole Miss wins the SEC after losing to Memphis. Clemson picks up two losses and the ACC officially sucks top to bottom. The Baylor/TCU winner goes down to Okie State/OU loser. Ohio State loses a couple, or at very least drops the Championship game to Iowa (who will probably lose to Mich. or Mich St.). BYU and Army are irrelevant, Notre Dame loses to Temple, but Notre Dame beats Stanford. Toledo loses to the Huskies, two directional Michigans, and a green bowling alley - because screw those guys (no real dislike, just doesn't help my cause).

Temple wins out after a Game Day thrashing of Notre Dame [edited because a sharp shooting Memphis fan pointed out my error 03-wink]

Then watch those bung holes try to keep the AAC out with a straight face.

Two undefeated AAC teams in the Championship game, with Memphis or Temple taking home the bacon (sorry Coogs).

Then watch those bung holes try to keep the AAC out with a straight face.

You had me until you said undefeated Memphis and Temple in the AAC CCG. We play each other before that.

All that and I screw up my own conferences schedule. Bah! Fine, fine. Temple goes all the way after a Game Day win over ND. Edits has been made.

Still doesn't matter. Memphis has.

1. Navy
2. @ #18 Houston
3. @ #21 Temple

The other 2 games the committee won't even look at unless we lose them.
