It's Illinois, not Alabama. 4-3 is pretty decent for the Illini. They are competitive. They can probably find 2 more wins to get to a bowl game, but I don't think Cubit will keep the job next year. Short of him winning out and going 10-3, a virtual impossibility, he's probably not coming back.

He still has Purdue, Minnesota, and NorthWestern. Could get Illinois to 7-5 which would not be terrible considering (1) It's Illinois and (2) the circumstances which led to his promotion.
