So I just caught snippets of the game but was anyone else surprised when UNT trailing by 3 scores (24 points) did not go for 2 to keep it a 3 score game?
Just 1:09 left on the clock, I know that 2 onsides kicks and 2 more quick TDs would have been tough- but it still surprised me.

Obviously some of our fans live in a fluffy bunny and rainbow world. Hell, Ohio St fans still complain about stuff. If you stop striving to get better you get left behind.

Not at all. I don't mind people bringing up issues with the game.

However, some of us don't feel the need to go to every single thread that mentions Marshall and post "omg we sux" no matter if we win or lose.

RE: North Texas @ Marshall Game Thread
The bottom line is I'm very happy we are 7-1 and won't be surprised if we end up 11-1 or 8-4 at the end of the regular season. Our schedule has been front loaded with the easier part of our conference play, with the exception of USM. The last 3 games are against the 3 other best teams in the division.

We lost a bunch of really good players from last year's team, both through graduation and injuries as well as stupidity. Compared to the bowl game last year we played a new QB, new RB, new TE, 2 new WR, and 4 new linemen on offense and 3 new dlinemen, 1 new LB, 2 new CB and one new safety on defense. Only 6 guys that started the bowl game started this week against UNT. It's the same story on the 2-deep. In total, out of the 44 players on the 2 deep for UNT, only 18 of them were in the two deep for the bowl game. We have a ton of freshmen and sophomores on the field. The fact that we have managed to somehow go 7-1 to this point bodes very well for the next few years.

I'm glad north texas had a damn tough cusa schedule, no breaks to play easy teams...maybe next year it's a bit easier and the boys can succeed with the new coach...the boys weren't going to do anything great this year anyways

NT played damned hard against MU. A few less dropped passes, seemed like I saw near 10, and it's an entirely different game. Your QB played well till he got hammered too much, guy's got talent and seriously difficult to corral, helluva' scrambler. You guys aren't that far away imho. GL going forward Greenies.

Win conference
Play on New Years
Finish top 25
Marshall is doing their best to achieve that. When I see the Herd at 7-1 and not ranked I start losing my patience. CUSA probably isn't getting the G5 spot this year again so whether Marshall wins confrence or not they're going to the same bowl game. Marshall is doing its part. If some of these programs aren't serious about fielding a competitive team they need to go somewhere and find someone else to play. They are holding the Herd back and that's why I said it's not fair to the team or the fans and is hurting the program. Weather that's rude or snobby or what ever. It is what it is. Seeing NTU 0-what ever and getting blasted by a FCS school is irritating to see on the schedule. Imagine how bad it would've looked to lose to those guys. Get it together.

We held this conference back probably 7 of the 11 years in football and all but maybe 2 in basketball. I know everyone wants to forget the last decade but we were not good. We're one bad hire from suck just like every other team in this place. And we lost to FCS during that time.

Against UCF, Houston, Tulsa, ECU, yes. We won't be going less than 8-4 in this current cusa, unless we nelt down completely. Snyder would have won here now.

I do want to see us go to the AAC in the next round of expansion. If we don't, its a huge disaster. The AAC appears to be on the inside track to being on the train when the p5 pulls out, but the g5s are being left behind. Writing is on the wall. We have to make it next round.
