They run a gimmick offense. Either teams have figured it out or they don't have enough guys to run it.

Agree on the offense, just shows that preseason or even a few weeks in rankings are bogus.

Best of the G5:

#18 Memphis (7-0) W 66-42 @ Tulsa
#19 Toledo (7-0) W 51-35 @ UMass
#21 Houston (7-0) W 59-10 @ UCF
#22 Temple (7-0) W 24-14 @ ECU

Not surprising all won on the road to stay unbeaten this week. Three from the American. Mountain West? CUSA?

I'm curious to see how Houston does to close the season as the schedule gets a heck of a lot tougher, although it is mainly at home.

Lyles good for creating 2 losses on his own every year. I'd say he lost 4 games for TN this year.

Those are all very good teams. I'd probably give the edge to Houston among those 4.

Memphis has the toughest remaining schedule IMO with Navy and a couple of road games against Houston and Temple. The remaining schedules of the G5 unbeaten:

Memphis:
TULANE
NAVY
at HOU
at TEMPLE
SMU

Toledo:
NILL
at CMICH
at BGREEN
WMICH

Houston:
VANDY
CINCY
MEMP
at UCONN
NAVY

Temple:
ND
at SMU
at SFLA
MEMP
UCONN

Or not. Lol! That had to be the worst call I've heard from an ESPN announcer. "WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!"

That just ended the ACC's chance at the playoffs.

EDIT: Clemson still alive. The PAC12 is out of the playoffs.

I wonder if Briles wishes he had removed him from the last minutes of a game that was effectively over?

I agree. They are still very young. While I think his coaching decisions cost them in the Oklahoma and Florida games I thought he and his staff coached a really good game against both Bama and Georgia.

There isn't much you can do when your kicker just flat out sucks. He went 0 for 3 on FG's against Bama and missed several (including game winners) in both the UF and Oklahoma games as well.

Kicker makes just one of the 3 FG attempts it changes the end of that game.

UT controlled things more than Bama did. That was not a fluke IMO, either. I would want no part of that team in the next year.

I know it doesn't play to the meme around here for some but the UT fans in Tuscaloosa were very pleased with the staff during and after the game. They had a great game plan and call me crazy, but they were every bit, if not more, physical than Bama most of that game. I didn't know UTs defensive front was that strong. Secondary gave up a couple circus catches when they had good coverage. That UT RB is damned good and the read option plays by the QB flummoxed Bama all game. Overall I came away very impressed. It was a fun game to attend especially since I did not have a dog in the fight and was sorta cheering for both teams (was sitting with wife's family who are all UT alums and my son attends Alabama).

I'll go to this one when they play in Knoxville, too.
