What will the sun belt do?
if there is a 4-way tie for 1st place at the end of the year?
stAte, App St., GS, and Louisiana all finish 7-1.
stAte lose to App, App lose to Louisiana, and GS and Louisiana both win out.
is it as simple as 4 teams share championship?
how big of an issue would it be for the conference to have 4 champs?
Now, I know this hypothetical scenario is most likely not going to happen, especially how Louisiana is playing. but its crazy to think this could happen. however, a 3 way tie without the Cajuns is not that far fetched.

App wins out and goes 11-1. I am sold on that happening after seeing us dominated by their defense. Credit to App- their team is good.

You were also sold on you guys winning out. There's a lot of football left to play.

There was a 3 way tie in 2005.

I see a possible 3-way tie, but 1 or 2 of those teams won't be involved. IMHO.

We're so one deminsional on offense, it's nauseating to think about, and our defensive backfield gets burned so often, they should be wearing Nomex suits.
Our Offenive line was was absolutely manhandled by App State, I hope instead of watching games in the lounge, they're in the weight room. Our passing game is a joke right now. Maybe it's because the best receiver is out for the season, or whatever, but Ellison is in serious need of work on his passing, and decision making.
On Upshaw, I know he's had his moments, but I honestly cringe when he goes out there. He's the biggest tendency we have, every third possession, SMH !
They need to get him on the field besides behind center, change things up. Split him out wide, and do a reverse pass, or send him deep, with his speed, there's no way Ellison could over throw him. Not trying to second guess our coaches, but dang !
Anyway, I'm still hopeful for a 9-3 finish, and a bowl game, but we shall see how much Texas State is able to capitalize on AppState's exposing our weaknesses.

App's team is good, but I am sold on Ga So being a one dimensional offense. stAte has to take care of business with Ga State first but I see them matching up a lot better against App then Ga So did. ULL also has the talent to challenge. App will earn the title if they knock all three of those teams off, but it is far from over.

I am sold on both A-States being strong contenders with ULL, USA and GASO being possibilities.

We all get a Trophy, and are guaranteed to fill the 4 SBC tied bowls.

Such a tiebreak is literally worst possible scenario for USA.

I agree that state matches up much better than GS with App. If GS wins out and App beats state but loses to ULL, I think it's a 3 way tie for first because App beat GS and GS has no win over a common opponent that the other's lost to. I see state as having a chance, but likely will finish tied for 2nd with GS and 1 conference loss with ULL working their way back down to the middle where they belong.

Don't write us off yet. We still play 3 of the 4, 2 at home.

Lets just focus on Texas State first.

this is the only reason i didnt include USA. you kinda mess up the 4 way tie, even a 3 way gets more complicated. by no means do i write you guys off in the real world.

USA is capable of winning. That collapse against stAte gave me a lot of doubts. I'm confident about the rest of our schedule because we're at home except for Troy and UGA.

RE: What will the sun belt do?
While it was an important step we took Thursday night, there is so much left to play for. We have really started a stretch of games much tougher than what we faced in the first half. It helps to have 3 at home but every game we have left is going to be very competitive and nothing is certain going forward. I think most App fans remember how USA took us to task last year and Idaho seems like they are beginning to play better. There are miles to go before anything has been decided.

We must focus on the next game at hand each week or we risk dropping that game. There is no room for looking ahead. The good news for App is that this team appears to be taking that approach.
