Them expecting a bowl bid which means a winning season while starting from scratch as far as players go yet are not increasing UAB funding & pushing for 2 money games says in a nutshell that they're setting up Clark to fail or make so hard for him to succeed that he gives up & eventually leaves. I hope Clark gives them a giant middle finger & more than willing to help him in that aspect

We just need to take attitude of play "anytime, anyplace".

Right. He went on and on about worrying about "player safety" coming back in 2016, but wants to line up against two buy games in 2017? If we must play two buy games, it's gotta be vs a bottom-half P5 team or preferably bottom quartile (Kansas, Wake Forest)

Looking at fbschedules.com it looks like those teams with openings for 2017 are looking for home games or buy games, both of which may limit our desire to play them(I assume if we have a FCS team at home and 2 buys games on the road we would want a home game). A couple of things of note, though: UMass will be an independent in 2017 and may have an opening; also, the Hawaii "exception". If a team travels to Hawaii that team gets to play 13 rather than 12 regular season games. That would allow UAB to play 2 FCS home games(if we can't get a FBS opponent at home)...

U-Mass (Charleston So. etc.) - Home
At (someone like Iowa State, Vandy, etc)
at Hawaii

But w/ a probably still short on depth/roster would we want to play 13 games along w/ possible conference championship/bowl game?

Probably no bye week either. We'll probably need one about midway through the conference schedule - earlier if we did play 13 games...

Play both in 2017 and Kansas and Bama A&M.
