RU Board
I love reading the RU Board for sh*ts and giggles. Some of their comments and predictions are pure gold. Hope runs eternal I suppose, but after RU's beating last year, and facing an even more potent and improved JMU team this year, no rational person can see the ticks hanging with JMU.

Check out SpiderNation for some cheap entertainment from the half-dozen posters. http://richmond.forums.rivals.com

A win by 1 point would be fine by me (a win is a win), but a blowout with JMU running up 50+ points would not be unexpected, and would put an exclamation point on the season.

I'm starting to get a little nervous about this game from all the confidence. BTW, I include myself in the confidence category.

They're much more humble than usual and aren't talking this up much. I suspect they know a storm is brewing.

Yeah I didn't see anything too crazy from their fans. As a whole, they seem to forget the blowout last year but I think if the roles were reversed it would be a lot the same.

Regardless... Ruck Fichmond!

The game last year very easily could have been a lot closer than the final score indicated. Can't bank on pick 6s and end zone fumbles for touchbacks. Those few plays broke it wide open.

I normally don't care for blowout games even when we are the victor, but when it comes to RU, I don't care if we score 100 points.

A lot of times this week I wish I was so superstitious believe in jinxing ourself...

Hopefully our team has a different mindset

Another article up on ESPN now, actually a video, of Todd McShay blasting JMU and pulling for Richmond (his alma mater).

Still cool to see the JMU being discussed on ESPN even though its at the receiving end of some smack talk.

They have five fans, all of which are so old, they are within minutes of dying

DD you're killing it over there, they are so worked up and defensive. they are asking to submit their favorite RU/JMU memory, they all agree on only one. I think we can come up with about 20 memories, none more impressive than the 14 second punt return.

There is no doubt that your team and coach has done a great job putting your program back on track. Stat wise you guys should win easily. But as they say this is why they play the game. Rarely do we talk a ton of trash. If and when we do it is mostly aimed at the Dukes.

This series has had some games go completely opposite they way it should have. Those 14 seconds have always been viewed as the one play that caused a team check, a players only meeting and the beginning of our championship run. I will say till I die without that play we do not win the National Championship that year.

We really appreciate you guys getting this game. It is good for both teams and the CAA. Being the underdog here does not bother me. I am just happy my team got the invitation. Here's to safe play and fun Saturday. Now if you will excuse me I will go check my ventilator.
