The raging fembot professor only wanted to talk about female issues since that was her area of "expertise". The class was World Civ 101 or something like that. Apparently I had the balls to question her instruction and authority. A ton of kids now days just fall into line like sheep when it comes to education and act like the professor is always right or in the know.

That is all schools are teaching now. Textbooks are written that way, all questions are directed at how to "cope" with the diversification of the workforce and how to fix the political and "glass ceiling" issues...

Which is why I come to football message boards and forget about real world problems.

I had one professor in college ever talk badly about sports. I had several that encouraged us to attend events.

One even offered extra credit if we wore green on gameday.

Spoke with a couple of protesters. One guy told me there were like 200 people out protesting and they got good media coverage. Another female attended the protest and then went to the game. She was vehemently supporting the protest but went completely silent when I asked her what other university event attracts 20k people to campus and injects that kind of money into the local economy.

You're supporting a capitalist endeavor.

Those professors only know socialism. They poison the minds of millions every year. It's how a communist like Obama got elected and a communist like Sanders is at 30% in the polls today.

Perpetual adolescence is a hard thing to overcome.

The 60's Hippies just may succeed in destroying western civilization if we don't reverse course, soon.

I'm definitely on the side of App football in this but can't help but LOL at the level of tinfoil-hat-wearing-ness expressed in this thread.

I don't have a problem with the protesters with the exception being they clearly don't understand where the problem is being created. Our state legislature is ruining education at all levels. Budgets are cut and teaching wages are neglected to the point our primary and secondary educators rank 50th in pay. This carries over to our state universities. The poor misguided protesters fail to see the cost of attendance at Appalachian is roughly the same as UnCW, UNCA and UNCG....all without a football team. Don't blame our sports programs or the administration. They have to deal with the deficiencies created in Raleigh. Wake the hell up and protest where the problem is.

Students and faculty at Appalachian State University plan to use a parking lot reserved for people arriving to tail gate at the school's first weeknight home football game as a place to protest the school's priorities.

A statement from Appalachian State Student Power says students and faculty will walk to the parking lot at Kidd Brewer Stadium Thursday prior to the football team's game against Georgia Southern.

On-campus parking is limited to accommodate people planning to tailgate before the game

Protesters say Appalachian State has its priorities out of order, pointing to an increase in tuition since 2011 at the same time as the head football coach's salary has increased.

Student Rachel Clay also says ASU has responded to budget cuts by charging students more and demanding more of employees.

Anyone in Boone got some insight into this?

Agendas, agendas, agendas. Must be boring in Boone. Aren't the leaves changing colors now? Geez.

Hasn't NC recently voted to replace Common Core? i hope so the math is just idiotic, why introduce complexity at the lowest level, and the rest of the curriculum seems to be biased heavily toward liberalism. Anyway I support their right to protest regardless of how misguided it is.

The chick who set up this protest has set up all sorts of protests for anything and everything. Any campus has a number of yahoos who will listen to anyone who has an infograph.

Their points would be better received in Raleigh and DC.

More so in Durham and Chapel Hole. Doesn't it seem that these habitual protesters have no life and no other way to get attention.

Here's a news report of the protest including a dissenting opinion from Gonzo.

Professional protestors is a thing now, many in their ranks started in the G8/G20 protests of the 90s, morphed into the Occupy movement, and now we see the spinoffs in the Black Lives Matter movements. A number of these misguided youths start on campuses around the country in this very way. Most rally against "the system" in some shape or form not necessarily any certain topic or outcome based. They are just plain professional protestors, because they crave the attention, lack any real skills to develop careers, or just plain have nothing else to do.
