Malzahn had some larger crowds because he made sure thousands of free tickets were distributed. Mohajir and company are very much against free tickets, as am I. Too many people assume if they wait they can get one for free.

I think only positives come from this. Inconvenience, yes, but we are getting our names out there!

No choice?

Are you serious?

Tuesday there was our game plus...

NLCS - Game 3 (I think most sports bars were tuned to this)
NBA - 2 preseason games
NHL - 1 preseason game

Today, there is the SBC game plus...

ALCS - game 6
NFL - Seattle/SF
NCAA - Temple/ECU
NCAA - Cal/UCLA
NBA - 2 preseason
NHL - 6 preseason

both good and bad. On one hand: air time on a channel people actually watch; Lots of interest in Arkansas by causal observers who may wind up attending games at some point; good for recruiting. But, we lost 3 to 5k in attendance for sure. Only 4 of my usual crew of 6 could attend. I'm sure others had similar situations. Love the Tuesday and Thursday night games when stAte is the away team.

Agreed. And, unless there is something on ESPN2, how many sports bars are turned to ESPN2? Usually, unless something major is on, the TVs are turned to ESPN and that's it.

Not entirely true. I have a buddy and co-worker who was visiting family in Jersey and he said out at one of the bars in downtown Trenton a lot of the TVs there had it on the Astate/LaLa game with quite a few people watching the game.

I'm sure theirs still quite a bit of places on the flagship or the other sporting events on that night but I was tickled to hear that.

RE: Attendance at Ark St-Louisiana game?
I have 3 restaurant/bars in Nashville that I frequent. They all have multiple TVs, with each broadcasting different events. On occasion they will show the same game on several tvs, if it's a local team playing.
But it never fails, if football is on, it is broadcasted.

Our game was the only college football game on that night.

As long as stAte doesn't have more than one Tuesday night game at home, I'll take all the Tuesday TV road games I can get!

Thursdays are watered down now with so many cfb games, plus the short week, so those kind of suck.

We'll have to travel to APP and have a short week the first Thursday in November. That is being jammed up for a big game. Not good.

How do you figure that? They don't play again until that game on the 31st.

Most Sports Bars that I have been to usually are tuned to multiple channels. Usually both ESPN's, and one of the major networks if a big game is happening.

My guess is Tuesday that most bars had several TV's on both our game and the baseball game. There are always a segment of people who want to watch football.

Maybe you need to try a new "sports bar". The one's I frequent have EVERY sport that is currently televised from numerous sources on multiple tvs.

I like Tuesday/Thursday games for their national exposure on a relatively slow CFB night but they are a tough draw for home attendance. All in all I think attendance at Astate was about right.

They scan tickets to make sure they are valid.

RE: Attendance at Ark St-Louisiana game?
I understand the adults arriving late, go home after work, change, get the family, get stuck in traffic as so many others are doing the same thing.

I understand leaving early. Work the next day gotta get the kids up for school.

What baffled me was I look at the student section it is half full. Couple drives later I look up and it is full. Then early third quarter it is a third full. Most students walk, most students were out of class at least four hours before kickoff, most students won't be in bed until a couple hours after the game is over.
