Not making fun of the dude, it's just a shame to see someone rewarded for a falsehood. I mean, it's like the dude is trying to be a politician. I personally don't care where the dude lives.

What falsehood? And what reward?

And for what it's worth, I wasn't really referring to you, moreso our other mental midgets.

So you are saying that he did in fact invent a clock? Also, I guess a free trip to Facebook, Microsoft and all of those gifts he has been getting are not rewards?

No, I think he was a 14 year old who took apart a clock and was proud that he did so, and mistakenly called it an invention like many kids that age would do. And you're sort of missing the point here, the only reward he wanted was the approval of his engineering teacher. Instead he was arrested, and illegally held and questioned by the police. The fact his story garnered such attention was after the fact, and to act as if it was some sort of reward is ludicrous.

Like I said, you're a grown man on the internet making fun of a 14 year old kid because he called something he fiddled with an 'invention'. It's pathetic, on so many different levels, and I truly pity you.

Can you please show me where I made fun of this kid? I made fun of his "invention", I didnt make fun of him. I also made fun of people that were all over him for his "invention".

And I dont give a flying **** if you pity me or not. You are whats wrong with this country, giving participation trophies for "inventing" a clock.

I didn't give him anything, and I wish I had never heard of this story in the first place. I wish he had gone to school, and gone home that day without being arrested. You saying I'm whats wrong with america because I give out participation trophies is like your neurons firing randomly and throwing together things you associate with liberalism but have absolutely nothing to do with me or this topic at all. Wait, are you honesty confused about how making fun of something a person made is akin to making fun of them? Wow, the bar has been lowered, yet again.

And that buzzing sound you're hearing is the point flying waaaaaaaay over your heard in regards to your second comment.

I guess we should pamper all 14 year olds then, make sure to give them a pat on the back for a "job well done", and give them a participation trophy, or a brand new computer, or free trips to Facebook, and Microsoft or and invite them to the White House.

I am pretty sure you meant, head*

Nope, not at all what I've said or at all what I've ever implied. Again, with the conservatism ad-libs just putting in words that have nothing to do with anything about this topic, discussion, or what I've written.

It's almost like your mind doesn't know how to work in a real discussion in which you limit your responses to what the person you're talking with has actually said. What's more, you seem to think that just spouting random things you associate with that persons ideology is somehow a valid response when in reality, it just makes you look like you have no real argument to make. How's this, try responding to this comment using only the things I've said within it. I know it might feel unnatural at first, but you've got to trust me, you'll be a better person if you learn to do this and people will stop rolling their eyes when you open your mouth.

Not for his clock, no, but he was given trips as a cheap way for those organizations to get publicity by latching onto a viral story about a kid being illegally detained. You can blame about everyone else besides the kid for those things though, but it's easier and more fits your narrative to latch onto this 14 year old instead of the companies which profited using him.

The fact is, he didn't go to school that day in the hopes that grown men across the united states who he never met would ridicule his clock, or in the hopes that he would end up going to those places. To say that they were rewards or that they were free is a gross and intentional misrepresentation of what happened.

He's 14. He should have been told his little project was a fail.

He's going to Qatar. Do you know what boys face in Muslim countries? I have some advice for him:

I don't get the hate on either side. The kid did nothing wrong and was arrested in error.. But the media attention to me is worse than the original action.

And who cares if he and his family moves. It seems like they are getting the hook up in Qatar.

But why is Qatar giving him the hook up? Isn't because he's some boy genius, engineering marvel or even shows any prospective potential. Outside of maybe inconspicuous bomb design.
