It's great to be a dreamer, but not when those dreams are delusional. His comparisons to Boise are missing a lot of key elements (market saturation, for instance).

He's tying in Louisville's academic gains (building, research labs) to athletics, which is ridiculous. As UofL has increased their research agenda, they have accumulated a lot more in grant and research funding. None of this had anything to do with athletics.

One thing he gets right - and we've discussed on this board - is the recruitment/enrollment impact of successful athletics (Boise is a great example).

Didn't watch thru the video.

But research funding and such does play a role in able to join particular P5 conferences.

Also, keep in mind that at least in the case of Boise, there also isn't any professional sports franchises within their footprint.
