I will be making it to the game. If the weather prediction holds out it will 64 degrees and partly cloudy. Which will be one of the nicest games we have had so far at Dix. I am interested to see how our defense holds up against Johnson. I would think that there will be several scouts at the game to see how Johnson fares against a top 10 defense.

Not quite ready to declare an upset win yet, but I definitely see the road map to a victory and it is not an impossible reach.
1. Win the time of possession battle. This is possible. BUGS is not known for its defense. We need a good game from Bollas. After seeing him in high school and last week, he is capable, in fact his abilities remind me of Jordan Lynch of NIU.
2. Defense must intercept several Johnson passes. Our DBs are talented and this is possible.
3. We will need great special teams play, making BUGS go the length of the field.
Now, all of this may appear obvious but the key is that this does not take excessive imagination to see it happening. We need a good crowd. Go Flashes!

I think another added point will be that Haynes is gonna have to throw his conservative play calling out the window. It nearly cost us the game against UMASS & Miami. No way we'll be able to score 14 points against these guys and just milk the clock for an entire half. Haynes is gonna have to keep the pedal to the metal the whole game and throw everything he has at them. I say some trick plays including a fake punt/FG on special teams would be a nice call.

I believe that Haynes may throw a surprise or two into the mix, but he is basically conservative and will stay that way. He will stress the same plays with an emphasis on better execution. My hope is for Bollas to really shine as he will have more confidence and several more weeks of development. His ceiling is high and just hope he has a break out game.

Ya more than likely you are correct. It was just very frustrating to see it last weeks game. Bollas was being really effective running the option and even had a few nice passes in the mix in the first half. Second half was just the same old infective draw play over and over trying to run that clock... It's worked in our 2 conference wins this year, but sooner or later it's gonna cost us a game.

Another point to mention is whatever gameplan BG thought they had against our offense with Reardon will have to account for Bollas and his running threat now. So hopefully giving them more to account for and only having one game of film on him will cause a little confusion on their end. With our offensive troubles we need a QB who can make things happen with his feet if need be, and Reardon was not that guy. It's looking like Bollas will be the best run threat we've had at QB since Edelman and I'm looking forward to watching him.

Haynes did say that they didn't want to throw too much stuff at Bollas in his first start, but they will work more things in as he gets more comfortable in the role.

With Dixon and Calhoun back, you'd have to assume there are more options, even with a conservative approach.

Question to those who may know, has Boyle just been surpassed on the depth chart, or is he injured?

I am just glad KSU, and this game, has some relevance at this point in the season. Go Flashes.

I was at the UMass game last week, and I could feel the confidence growing. Let's hope for a good result.

Agreed- i don't think anyone of us expected to be here after the Illinois game. The only big relapse has was the Toledo game, but I don't think anyone will argue that may have just been b/c they're a top notch team. Hate to throw what ifs out there, but if we just coulda pulled off that Marshall upset we'd have an outstanding shot at a bowl game. This team is gaining an identity and starting to believe they can win. Good job Paul Haynes. It's been a lot of growing pains to this point, but progress is being made in the right direction.

Sparse crowd at the start of the game, less than a hundred students so far.

And that sparse crowd is watching one of the most undisciplined teams in our history.

I actually feel bad for the defense. They have to defend all four downs because BG laughs at our offense.

Is it possible to take away pride stickers from the offense for poor performance?

I'm beginning to believe in GFlashes assessment of our OC. Dismal performance. Again.
