I know you are a Middle fan but even you can't believe that a 3-4 Middle Tennessee is better and in a better position than a 6-1 Marshall.

I think Dawgxas has it about right. Our SOS is leaps and bounds better than Marshall's and although we probably get hammered by LaTech Saturday we will get the Herd after an off week and I think we are going to pop your bubble at our place!

If you were 5-2, that argument might hold water. Even 4-3 possibly if WKU didn't beat you in the 1st 5 minutes.

But MTSU is an "OK" football team. Marshall is a "Good" football team. If both teams play their best, MTSU loses by 17+.

Now, come black friday, WKU is a "Very Good" football team, and in that one, we need them to stumble, and get some turnovers to win that game. With MTSU? We just need to not self destruct.

RE: WEEK 7 Power Rankings
Not a slam on UNT or Charlotte, but we should have two weeks to continue working things out on offense and two weeks to get some banged up guys healthy. We have been getting consistently better on offense and broke 500 yards for the first time this season against FAU. Our Oline is finally starting to gel. Losing a 4 year starter, all conference, center was our biggest loss from 2014.

We should be ready to compete with Middle, FIU and WKU.

Even with one of the easiest schedules in FBS, I don't see 3 more wins unless they can pull at a win at UTSA. Wouldn't be surprised if the FIU game is blowout

I would be willing to bet you didn't see an ODU win coming against Tech last year either, and you see how that turned out. By the way, we were bowl eligible at 6-6 last year.

You honestly don't see any possibility of ODU winning against UTEP and FAU at home? You don't see any chance of a win against an FIU team whose only wins are against UCF (0-7), UTEP (2-4) and FCS NC Central?

Yes, when it comes to the Monarchs, I am a homer, but I look at the remaining schedule and believe there are four very winnable games remaining -- not that the Monarchs will win all four, but it certainly not inconceivable that they will.
Them WKU boys better be worried about the state of their team once the Tigers are done with them. Have you seen how LSU has been playing? Yeah! They are determined to get a spot in the playoff.

What the hell does this even mean?

It means what he said. LSU wants a playoff spot and ODUAlumni2015 says that LSU has been playing to demolish teams to prove they're deserving of said playoff spot and as such, our boys could be banged up after playing LSU.

We've had boys get banged up against Vandy, La. Tech, N. Texas, and other teams. I hate the "don't get anybody hurt" mentality. These are D1 football players. They can get hurt in practice. Stop it with this crap. It can happen anytime.

Perhaps same could be said of WKU playing for an access bowl spot.
I'm worried for LSU...

RE: WEEK 7 Power Rankings
Although I fully expect LSU to beat WKU at their house, I'm not as impressed with LSU as others seem to be. Don't get me wrong. I think LSU is very good but......

They only led 1-6 Eastern Michigan by 1 TD going into the 4th Quarter
They only led 3-3 Syracuse by 2 TD's going into the 4th Quarter
They only led 3-4 South Carolina by 2 TD's going into the 4th Quarter (SC lost to Kentucky...lol)

I think we can compete with LSU at least until the 4th Quarter. It really comes down to Doughty having a good day, keeping turnovers down and a solid effort by our D to keep us in the game. That's a lot though.

As I said, they didn't dominate those "powerhouse" teams until the 4th quarter. Also, as I said, LSU is very good but some of the LSU fans here make it sound like they are a team that is demolishing all their opponents. Teams are playing competitive with them until they are worn down in the 4th quarter. I think WKU can do the same. Of course, I could be wrong and it could be a blowout by halftime.

I think the major difference that you will see is the play of LSU's D-line and linebacking corps (and overall depth)... I think they are going to be able to get to BD and put some pressure on him and force him into some mistakes.

I think you'll hang for a while, but in the end, I think LSU will be just too much.

What you say might just happen...hell probably happen. But that changes nothing that Apollo said...

each of those 3 schools...ALL 3 rated lower than Western in offense and overall were with in 1 to 2 scores heading in the 4th qt.

I would think just looking at the stats Western had the better offensive line out of those schools. While comparing scores is not something I do as a game by game....

it does tell you that LSU is not this KILLER of a team this season. At least so far. They won every game but worked for most longer than most people expected.

RE: WEEK 7 Power Rankings
First, let's start with reality. LSU has already beaten Mississippi State, Auburn, South Carolina, Syracuse and Florida this year. Any one of those wins would be considered one of the best wins in WKU's history (or Marshall's, so don't get huffy). And in spite of playing those teams they have the 4th ranked rushing offense in the country. They are averaging 325 yards a game on the ground even playing the 28th toughest schedule. That's the biggest reason why WKU can't win. Your offense can't score from the sidelines.

On the optimistic side, if LSU has a weakness, it's their pass defense. If WKU plays the game of their lives, they could have a shot in the fourth.

You have to love the SOS argument against Marshall. It's like a yearly right of passage. Some on this board swear they are better because of their SOS. Of course, actually playing Marshall--they lose. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Funny!

Key to the game will be our OL allowing BD some time to throw..If he takes a big hit and or pressured at the start, it could be a long night for us....Fornette will get his no doubt, we just need to make sure their QB throw occasionally, stack the box....It could burn us but what have I have seen their QB is average at best....Only way we win would be in a shootout fashion...We are just simply too small to stop Fournette or get any pressure vs. LSU OL....Our offense will have to get it done if we have a chance....
