The weakest position on our team is the Offensive Coordinator. Play calling is hard to watch.

RE: Week 7 - KSU @ UMass
Defense and Special Teams owned the day. That win was made even sweeter by the fact that the UMASS announcers on ESPN3 didn't seem to have much respect for our defense all day. They seemed to want to blame everything on poor offense and acted surprised that UMass wasn't moving the ball with ease.
The offense did the bare minimum to get a W today. I liked what I saw from Bollas and James. We've got some pretty talented freshman on offense. James looks like the real deal, Washington is a nice back as well (hope he's ok), Simmons and Woods both look like solid receivers, and Dixon is a game breaker. Those guys (and Bollas) are all freshman. Today 176 of our 192 rushing yards and 124 of our 135 receiving yards all game from freshman. Add in the fact that our freshman kicker looks to be a real good one and the future of the offense could be pretty bright. It kind of reminds me of a couple years ago when Spencer Keith, Dri Archer, and Tyshon Goode were all freshman with big roles.

One other comment, 3 of the 5 teams remaining on our schedule got beat down badly today.

Congratulations on the win today. You were clearly the better team. Fro has been off some this year but today was bad. Wonder if they are underplaying the hit to his arm/shoulder last week. Last year he broke his leg and the never admitted that to after the season.
Like I said before, you guys were the better team and congratulations.

Yes outside of BGSU I like our chances. We will not be favored or anything but I think we can come out with wins against any of them.

^ this - however, the QB position is a close second.

It's just great to be playing for a shot at the MAC East lead next week. Hopefully they open up more of the playbook to Bollas next week. Would really love to see this team become bowl eligible.

Marc, we are going to get absolutely blasted next week. If we stay within 30 of BGSU we have done well.

Danny, More than likely so, but I wouldn't count out a 6-6 season quite yet. Outside of the BG game, I think our D will keep us in the rest of the games.
And hopefully the Offense starts to make some strides now that the Bollas era is underway.

Give me the Akron game and OU game and I don't care what else happens. Akron for obvious reasons, but I really love beating OU. They thumb their noses at us and truth be told, aren't worth a ****.

Great Stat. We have some serious talent coming, which needs to be attributed to Coach Haynes and staff great recruiting.
I do not believe we will become bowl eligible this year, but think we have a chance to win in all in the coming years with all of this young talent.

I see much of the same. You have to be impressed how we have not fallen apart due to injuries this year. We just plug in another freshman. Coach Haynes obviously understands the depth factor. I really like our Head Man even though I have doubts about the OC.

RE: Week 7 - KSU @ UMass
This is from MassLive, the website for a bunch of newspapers in Massachusetts (not the Boston Globe).
The UMass coach effectively admitted he got outsmarted and out-schemed by the Falcons' Paul Haynes. "Their plan was a lot better than ours and it played out," Whipple said.
URL is http://www.masslive.com/umassfootball/in...lo_1.html.
Links to a ton of stories is at the end.

Separately, I'm not sure the offense is all Treadwell's fault. Haynes took ownership of the extremely conservative play calling when they got ahead against Miami.
