Corso's prediction is ALWAYS the very last thing on the show (just a couple minutes before Noon) ... and there is a possibility he may throw a curve ball and put on the Spider's head gear ... in that event, heaven help the guy!

FYI, not sure if it's been covered before, but the Dollar Tree has 2/$1 purple and yellow streamers. Just bought 5 of each.

I'm heading to a Dollar Tree in Maryland tomorrow to snatch up a bunch. I'll gladly accept a donation and distribute to those nearest the Gameday set before 9am Saturday.
PayPal however much you want to pitz2@yahoo.com, and I'll post a picture here of all the streamers I get!

If he did it might be even funnier at that point to shower him with streamers while he gets booed... But I agree with 2Buck, I wonder if Fitting and all of them would get on board with that. It would make for a unique ending to remember, one that stands out a little extra from all the other mascot head picks.

If no one else has volunteered to do it yet, I'd be willing to go get them at Dollar Tree and distribute them. I already got 50 I'm going to hand out but decided I'll get some more tonight anyway, going over to Charlottesville for stick and puck from 5-6 and I'm going to go over to their Dollar Tree after... If we're wanting more than they have I wonder if there are more Dollar Trees I could hit in between Charlottesville and Harrisonburg.
One thing, though, is that JMU has said the 500 spectator pit area directly behind the set will only be open to JMU students with a valid JACard. I'm not a student and it's hard to tell if it'd still be possible to get streamers passed out to them without being in there. My guess is no, but maybe showing up before 6:30 AM when they open it and handing them out to students waiting to get in could work... Is there a student on here that's definitely going to be getting there super early to get in the pit area? If there is and he/she would be on board with passing out streamers and telling everyone to throw them when Corso puts on the head, I'd definitely be willing to give you the streamers I've got.

I'm willing to chip in if someone's talking about bringing them to the actual game, especially to the upper deck (or at least near the main gate on the new side of the stadium). there will be plenty of streamers on the quad in my opinion, it's going to be chaos (in a good way).

I can hit up the 4 dollar tree stores here in Lynchburg. Idk what their stock is but I can only get about $25 worth, I am kinda tapped out now. But I am willing to share what I do get.

I picked up 20 or so here in Greensboro, but will coming up from Boone (probably the back way all the way up from Abingdon) so I'm sure I'll pass a few Dollar Tree's along the way and will grab another batch. Will have some at Gameday and some on Godwin/P-Lot (with RFD) for heading into BFS.

Whats the policy in bringing them into the stadium? Can you bring in grocery bags of streamers? Do they limit what kind of bags they can be in or how many you can bring. I feel like this has been an issue in the past but wasn't sure if there was some official word out there.

Can't see that happening. On paper we are clearly the better team. Plus Corso tends to pick the home team, except for Alabama, which he always pick.

According to an official release, only 500 JMU students will be allowed in the area directly in front of the stage (those entering the area will have to have a valid JMU JAC card to enter, ensuring that the crowd with be a pure throng of JMU students). This will eliminate any possibility of signs from other schools being on camera throughout the telecast (eat your hearts out RU, UVA, ODU and VT fans).
The larger logistical point is that the chosen "500" will need to enter the area armed to the teeth with streamers, or have a supply system to feed them streamer replenishments during the entire telecast. Obviously, when Corso dons the Duke Dawg head streamers should fly by the multiple dozens (as thrown by the "500"), however, the chosen "500" should also be throwing streamers throughout the telecast, and this will require arming them with more than one apiece. This is where the old SDC could have really helped.

I'm already home now, I bought the rest of what they had at the Charlottesville Dollar Tree. I have about 80 streamers right now. One or both of those Dollar Trees would work for me on either Thursday or Friday though so if people want I could get more then. Like I said before, I'd rather get them out of town when I'm near them anyway. I'm hoping the Harrisonburg Dollar Trees to sell out of purple and yellow streamers without me taking a bunch of them when I could be getting them elsewhere.
I'd prefer to make sure there are tons at GameDay and to tell people to throw them when Corso makes his pick, but if it turns out that JMU is already giving out tons at GameDay or something I'd give them out at the game instead. Or if people want theirs going to the actual game like Jay M. Youix does I can keep them separate and do both. As far as the game goes, I agree that getting them raining down from the upper levels is what we should be going for.
If anyone wants to chip in you can PayPal to sandysea1953@gmail.com, it'd either be Thursday or Friday(probably Thursday) I'd get them so I'll let you guys know once it's too late. If you specifically want them to go to the game just note that when you send it and I'll keep them separate. If you do chip in, make sure you send it as "Send money to friends or family" instead of "Pay for goods or services" so that it all goes to streamers instead of PayPal taking a percentage.

I dont think you'll have a problem with a grocery bag. I bring a gym bag full every game and have never had an issue. I think as long as the bag meets the policy (no bigger then 12x12) you should be safe.

JMU sent out an email saying they will have 3,000 streamers for the show and will "let you know when to throw". I assume that means showering the set with streamers after Corso's pick is a go!

RE: Streamers / Atmosphere
I know we give the admin a hard time, but I've been pretty happy with how they've handled things so far. It can't be easy to plan for these things with the limited amount of advance notice you get. Especially when you throw in all of the normal homecoming prep work that would typically take up their time.
I'll hold off on giving any official "kudos" until after this weekend, but happy to see what they've done so far.

RE: Streamers / Atmosphere
Serious question: do students know how to throw streamers these days? Covering the entire GameDay set with streamers: good. Pelting the GameDay cast and crew with still-rolled-up streamers: bad.
