RE: ESPN Gameday
Just looking- JMU one of only 3 major FCS undefeated teams left(them, Coastal, McNeese). They always try to go to 1 non FBS game a year.

Good. Nice to see the FCS receive some well-deserved love.

RE: ESPN Gameday
I think they would be better off giving Houston, Toledo, Memphis, etc. a little Gameday love than somebody that, and not to be insulting, is utterly insignificant when it comes to what happens in the race for the NC game, at large spots, etc..
Sorry JMU folks, it's nothing against you.

It's insulting that you are in the FCS? What, you think JMU is in the hunt for an at-large bid to a big bowl, or a spot in the playoff?
How is that insulting?
You have several G5 teams with an honest to goodness shot right now. Sorry, but I think that those teams deserve some Gameday love more than an FCS team.
Gameday ought to be in Houston, Memphis, or Toledo before Richmond.

Congrats!! A buddy texted me last night and asked me where game day should go because next week's FBS games are lethargic (yes, AAC also), so I said James Madison or Harvard. Make sure y'all show up in force!!

Not only that, but if Temple wins Thursday night, I bet Gameday goes there for the Notre Dame game the following week

It wouldn't seem weird if they hadn't already gone to a D-III game this season.

What would have been a better option?
ESPN has 2 main criteria (IMO) that they look for:
1) A big FBS game, preferably matching 2 ranked teams. It also could be a big rivalry/revenge game. This week, there was none!!
2) A new location with an intriguing matchup. James Madison-Richmond checks both boxes.

There were some FBS options and you honestly can't fail with going to a major power's place, even if they're playing an unranked team. Can't believe I'm sticking up for the P5 here.

No one needs to get aggravated. It's the location for a pregame show. It's not ESPN crowning the kings of all of football.
Good for JMU and I'm sure their fans will have a lot of fun with it.

Yeah, this is kind of what I was thinking. Hopefully JMU folks come out as strong in support for this. One bad GameDay at one of these FCS locations and the "Once a Year" program might get scrapped.
Congrats on landing it JMU.

A&M at Ole Miss is a matchup of two ranked teams, and Ole Miss still controls it's own destiny in the SEC, but with both coming off losses it's not a surprise that they're not going there.
Bama vs Tennessee is an intriguing game, but I'm sure they'd rather wait for the Bama/LSU game.

Which D3 game did they go to?

Yeah if A&M and Ole Miss had both won I have little doubt that's where it would be this week.
