Let's just admit it should have never come to this. Duke had no business even scoring the TD preceding the miraculous kick-off return.

Additionally, while the knee WAS down, there were no blocks in the back. They all seemed to be from the side. And, unless the rules change, that's a good block.

P.S. I can not stand "the U", so I am certainly not a homer, despite living in South Florida.

I think Duke did score- there was just no replay angle that showed he did or didn't.

The knee was definitely down.

There were blocks in the back. I think the one they actually threw the flag on could be considered a block in the side, which would be okay, but there's an especially egregious one that made a Duke guy eat turf.

"The U" people I know keep whining about the refereeing but they are far and away the most penalized team in the country. They have been whining about it all season and they didn't even get penalized in this game as much as they should have. At some point, maybe you should just acknowledge that you're committing the penalties and stop doing it rather than trying to pretend like every game and every officiating crew you've gotten this year has had a vendetta against the Hurricanes. More like Hurrican't play within the rules, amirite? Hello?

Local sports radio is now referring to the ACC as the "All Clown Conference". The ACC gave their special teams player of the week award to the Miami player that scored that touchdown on the play that should have never happened. Love it.

Local radio in Charlotte yesterday claimed the ACC sports writers and not the conference give out those awards. Still bad either way.

The ACC did suspend the entire crew after that play. Or at least that's what I heard them say on one of the halftime shows.

I am actually referring to the three PI calls on Duke's last drive, of which only 1 was a somewhat certain PI call. One was a 50/50 that could have been either way and one was a phantom call.

Duke should not have been in a position to be kicking the ball to Miami.

23 freaking calls on UM. You don't see THAT every day (in fact, it was second most in NCAA's history)
