Rice Cross Country at Pre-Nationals
Both teams were at the highly competitive Pre-Nationals in Louisville. Each year, the school hosting the NCAA Championships also will host a race on the same course about a month before.

Rice women were in the "A" section, finishing 34th overall, ahead of Stephen F. Austin (37th) and Texas (40th). Cali Roper was 22nd overall.

The men were in the "B" section, where they finished 14th. Will Firth had his best race of the season, with an 11th place finish.

Rice women move up one spot to #6 in the latest South Central Regional rankings. The men are still unranked.

The rankings for both men and women list the top 15 teams. The South Central Region includes all schools from Arkansas, Louisiana, and most of Texas (excluding western universities such as UTEP and Texas Tech.
