not really though. AAC is still 18-16 OOC. the MAC is still 12-29 OOC.. So 2-3 more wins doesn't help the MAC out all that much. It would change the perception for the AAC even more.

That's nice.

The bottom line is unless Temple and Memphis enter undefeated the final week of the season and all other schools have 2 losses or more you can't concede the AAC is a 100% lock for an autobid.

Until then the MAC, CUSA, SBC, MWC have teams that have a mathematical chance.

if Temple and Memphis enter the last game with 1 loss- all 2 loss teams would be GONZO.

We'll have to see how it plays out.

There's nothing to see.... if the AAC champ has 1 loss- no 2 loss team would pass them. And frankly no 1 loss team would pass them either.

Wait, wait, wait...AAC fans are always playing the "it doesn't matter how close of a loss it was, it's still a loss" card.

Still plenty of weeks to go, but it's hard to fathom a scenario where the conference champ doesn't get it.

It's a team thing not a conference thing- so that's why Toledo has a shot if all of Memphis, Temple, and Houston lose. But really now Toledo is the ONLY fly in the ointment for the AAC.

I mean, I know what you are saying and I understand it, but Toledo is now going to disappear from the spotlight for 6 weeks. With the way the AAC performed out of conference, the perception down the stretch will just increase. Right or not, perception is everything in college football.

Umm....Toledo is sitting in the Top 25 of the polls this week.

They won't disappear.

And the AAC could easily have 3 top 25 teams this week- and very possibly all 3 be ahead of Toledo.

No. Temple & Houston will not jump Toledo. None of their wins (Toledo, Houston, or Temple) were against impressive opponents.

The difference between the AAC saying it and the MAC saying it- the AAC has still been over .500 OOC. the MAC hasn't. HUGE difference there....

The thing that will be interesting to see is if the AAC starts to get a lot more respect polls wise with the Memphis win today.

Huh? I didn't say that their win today was against an impressive opponent. And neither was Houston's win over 2 win Tulsa. Or Temple's probable win over 0 win UCF.

There are no rankings now, only committee rankings matter. Toledo is not ranked above anyone in the AAC.

So by your theory, no AAC team is ranked higher than Toledo.

Yes, UConn at Nippert next Saturday. This year I change my sig as a gesture of respect to the forthcoming opponent. 04-cheers

If Houston beats Vandy, Cincy, Memphis, Navy and Temple in the title game, we'll jump Toledo so far it won't be funny. We'd have several more impressive wins than Toledo's best win.

Toledo will end up being irrelevant. No strength of schedule, and no one is watching them on television. They'll be passed over by whomever comes out of the AAC, whether it be Houston, Memphis, or Temple.

Presuming the respective parties hold serve, and that's still a big "if," then November 14 could shape up as a play-in game for all the marbles.

I know reading comprehension is difficult for some people, but try reading the posts again.

Someone said that the 3 AAC teams could jump Toledo this week. I said it will not happen because Houston's win over Tulane, and Temple's likely win over UCF are not over impressive enough teams to warrant them jumping Toledo (not that Toledo beat an impressive team today, either).

And Cinci isn't over .500. And Vandy is a weak SEC team (I'm just using the same arguments that AAC fans use against Toledo).

The problem to see is that what if Toledo, Houston, Temple, Navy and Memphis all gets 2 loses at the end of the season?

Add Utah State and Boise State back in the picture.

MWC Mountain division is very good except for Wyoming.

That Memphis win is huge for Houston/Navy/Temple also. Will give them a crack at a possible top 15 team and that would be a win good enough to propel them up in the polls if they got it.

There are also Marshall, Western Kentucky, Georgia Southern and Appalachian State all sitting out there 1 loss yet too.

WKU has that shot against LSU yet which could change the conversation.
