X.

I don't want to pretend Avery won't play at all. I suspect he will play a lot more than Mr. Hurley.

Pollard did play some point at Maine, didn't he?

Did he start at point there? At 6-4, he'd create some interesting match-ups.

The first game's tomorrow - it's going to be interesting, especially because there's so many new pieces to the team.

With coachspeak, a lot of times they say what they want to be true, rather than what they really believe - we got to see the product on the court

The primary ball handlers will be Thomas, cancer and Pollard. Avery would be the 4th option this season.

Good to see both of these fellows doing well and gives me hope (feeling like Sendy is committed to KSU) - now we need a big man.

Just read Hustle Belt's look at the season so far and the prospects for how the season will play out.

Guess which team was not mentioned once?

RE: 2015-2016 Men's Basketball
Just a couple of results for you guys to chew on. EMU lost at home to BG today. and Ball St. won by 2 at home over Miami. Last night Akron got pummeled by Toledo. This thing is up for grabs and winning any game should be considered good because any team in the conference can beat any other team on any given night. There are no gimmies this year. NONE. So when we lose a double digit lead but still win going away, IMO, we should all be pleased.

I truly believe there will be 1-2x in conference play where we just don't show up and 1-2x where our opponent doesn't show up and those will be big wins/losses and the rest could go either way depending on late game execution (to which we will win more than our fair share). Let's see what happens tonight, but I like the make-up of this team. Lastly, while I want to win the conference and go dancing, that isn't the only measuring stick of a successful season to me.

Parity has arrived in the MAC. There are some good players but 12 flawed teams.

I don't think there is a team good enough to have won the MAC any year since at least the 90's.

But that is what you call opportunity for a team like ours. I don't think there is a team that is tougher and gutsier than ours. There certainly are teams with more finesse but you watch the two "favorites " and you will see two teams that are very soft and don't handle adversity well.

So accept mediocrity because the whole league is mediocre? Dont' complain about the obvious holes in the team, let alone the program because teams like friggin Miami are blowing leads?

In the words of Austin Carr....Get that weak stuff out of here!

I think what you miss, or choose to ignore, is that there are too many times when we as fans are putting up with pretty crappy basketball. The quality of Kent State Basketball (over the last, I don't know, 8 years) has taken a dive. THAT is the reason for much of the anger that you read here man. I know you were at the game when Al Fisher and company came up huge against Saint Mary's and probably at the game when KSU beat them in the NIT.

I watched KSU beat George Mason down there, beat Butler at the MAC Center and finish games with their feet on the opponents throat. Those teams were not invincible. But they were teams to be proud of from top to bottom. Its been a while man....its been a long while.

To infer you are not proud of this team is concerning and projects a pell-mell attitude in my opinion. A 12-5 record and tied for first in the MAC East at this point of the season is nothing of which to be ashamed. Win or lose, I am proud of this team, as long as they try their best, and the coaches have the team fully prepared. This team cares, and wins.

Good comments. We are just fans wanting a good product. I understand in college other things matter but I really don't care what the team GPA is etc. etc. I want to see good basketball. In the early 2000's we had a national reputation. Certainly not as a power but as a scary team to play. Our wrestling, gymnastics and baseball teams have great seasons now and then. That's what I especially would like to see again in basketball.

Big stretch of games coming up for the Golden Flashes with 4 of the next 5 on the road. The nice thing is KSU can set the tone at Ball State on Tuesday.
