He would make Houston competetive very quickly with how great of a coach he is.

Make sure to have lots of home games in Nov. please 01-donnankungfu

This. Nothing against Houston, I know they are more than just a University named after the City but no...they are not joining The Big Ten ever.

Kirk Ferentz would want the UH gig.

These two schools I would love Houston had on its yearly schedule, Michigan and Ohio St.. My

I think the more realistic conferences Houston could join in the very near future are these three in order, IMHO

1. The Big12
2. The PAC
3. The ACC

The B1G also has a stipulation that the university needs to have some sort of qualification, which limits who gets to go. Nebraska HAD it when B1G said they'd take them in, but lost it. I forget what it's called. It isn't the ultimate litmus test of a school being Great, as there are some good schools that don't have it (but mostly mere 'par/average' schools that don't), but it is a litmus test they use.

You're thinking of Rocky Mountain Oysters.

Houston's only option would be the Big 12 and since the Big 12 has no desire to expand anytime soon, they might be stuck in the AAC for a while.

Last time the B1G Presidents told the Commissioner he could go looking for schools, he seemed to have been told to give a preference to contiguous schools that are members of the AAU.

That doesn't mean that Notre Dame would be turned away if they came knocking (and, yes, I know that they won't), but for schools that are not knock-out home runs for other reasons, having AAU status really helps get them past the silly and overblown petty academic snobbery in some B1G schools, such as Wisconsin and That School Up North.

Agree. Don't see it happening.
