I think it was touched on in the football thread on an NFL team moving to LA. Maybe not this article per se, but the idea of which cities would work for one.

Montreal had the Expos.... I could buy a team coming back... if they have their financial act together.

Charlotte or the RDU area in NC should have MLB team--too much baseball in this state to not have one.

Please God not Charlotte. They'll probably be pushed down our throats as "our" team just like the Charlotte Panthers.

Ahhem...it IS East Carolina, but its Western Carolina, and depending on your point of view their NC Central.

Ironically, Charlotte would be a great place for a Central Carolina University.

The last time MLB in NC came up the ownership group was based in Greensboro. I believe they were talking about locating the stadium between Greensboro and Winston-Salem.

With an NHL team and 3 major colleges, I think the RDU area is saturated. Same for Charlotte with NFL and NBA franchises.

Nashville needs a baseball team and St. Louis could use a basketball team.

STL has sort of a lingering issue similar to Atlanta that, basically when the Hawks owner addressed it, he was forced to sell his team.

I'd like to see San Antonio and Montreal get expansion franchises.
