Well, oh well. I guess I can't complain. My Cards are the most well run organization in baseball - maybe professional sports, and the Cub base have suffered long enough. So, I will be pulling for the Cubs just this one time to get it done. After that. It's on. Cubs/Cardinals is going to be like the Yankees/Red Sox were in the last decade.
All that aside, I really just have a very difficult time understanding playoff baseball and this is from a person who worked in baseball in my previous career. Obviously, experience is of no consequence. Things that happen in the regular season have absolutely no correlation to what happens in the post season. Case in point...
In the 19 games the Cardinals and Cubs played during the regular season, Cubs hitters only had 10 home runs. In the last three games of the division series - three games mind you the Cubs had.......10 home runs. Seriously, I can't even begin how to understand that.

My Reds are a complete Oil field fire. The NL Central is by far the best in baseball. I loathe the Cardinals, miss Harry Caray, and can't stand the Bucs or Brew Crew.
I'll be pulling for the Cubbies even though they have just about the most obnoxious fan base in baseball.
A) The wind was helping both teams the last two nights.
B) To understand the Cubs, you cannot look at our whole season. Our performance in April - June is night and day from the last 2-3 months. This team is young and has grown over the last few months. We are not the same team now that we were in all of those 19 games.
I have several friends who have been life long cubs fans. I've watched them suffer miserably for years. Even if this team doesn't go all the way, they have a great group of young talent and I believe they have a bright future. Theo is a great GM and operations guy. I'll definitely be pulling for them.

Agree on the NL Central. For the first time, I am glad the Astros are out of the NL Central and into the AL West.

Hey, the 'Stros are having an awesome year. Now only if they would bring back the sunrise unis of the early 80's (I don't call them rainbow because there was no blue, purple, green, or violet)

Greg Abbott, is that you?

I think the Astros moving to the AL West was the best thing since sliced bread. Having both Texas teams compete for something of substance has helped baseball in general. I love it!!
Cubs-Astros World Series? Pretty interesting thought. You have two franchises that didn't just blow up their organizations over the last 5 years. They went nuclear and are probably a couple of years ahead of their best estimates. I think the Astros' run probably ends tonight, though.
