RE: AAC
Undefeated teams - good sign. WTH? criticizing teams that have not lost thru week 8 - late October? Temple,Houston & Memphis are ALL good teams. Wishing the 2015 Huskies were in similar position. BTW - they all are deserving of their rankings. BEAT ND!

As you would expect against just a downright dismal Tulsa opponent. It kind of dawned on me , Memphis is the Carr led Fresno St of a few years ago. A lot of offensive skill, but not a team you really trust when they meet a quality opponent. Their tempo and strengths on offense remind me of Fresno, and also that feeling that they will give up a crapload of points reminds me of Fresno. The best thing about Memphis is that QB, he is their everything, much like Carr.

Memphis beat the #13 team in the country who had beaten alabama. Fresno didn't beat anyone. Memphis is much better than anyone in any other G5 conference. Not sure about Houston or Temple though.

I still think with Toledo's defense they are the best G5 out there, the most balanced.

Heading into last nights game "downright dismal" Tulsa was ranked higher than 6 MAC teams according to Massey Ratings.

Well yeah, using a one game sample and saying "do you really need to know anything else?" is pretty dumb. The rankings look at the season as a whole, they don't cherry-pick games to include in their rankings.

Tulsa's wins are over two (1-5) teams FAU/Louisiana-Monroe, and New Mexico(4-3). Tulsa ranks #121 Total Defense, #112 Rushing Defense,#118 Passing Yards Allowed, and #118 Scoring Defense. The FAU/Tulsa was very representative of Tulsa's season good Offense, horrible Defense. So it wasn't really dumb to choose that game. The Buffalo game was interesting, because CUSA and Owl fans were shocked how a MAC team came down to S FL and dominated. Another thing is, I do attend some FAU games and keep a close eye on the program. I have met Coach Partridge, and know some of the players. So I might have more insight into FAU's opponents.

Wait, you know Coach Partridge?!?
Holy smokes, I apologize. You're definitely right. I'm currently emailing Massey now and showing them this. Hopefully they'll change their rating system.

Toledo has that on/off switch that great teams have. Not looking forward to the trip to Toledo this year, NIU's defense is kind of trending in a scary fashion
