Music at Basketball Games
Since things are a little slow right now, I'll pose a question to the group. I'm curious about suggestions for intro/time-out music at the games. "Welcome to the Jungle" is getting a little worn out, so I was wondering if you guys had ideas they could use instead?

Personally, I think "TNT" or "Shoot to thrill" from AC/DC would be good choices to add but curious about other's thoughts. 04-rock04-rock

RE: Music at Basketball Games
Great question. I'll just throw this out there, maybe we don't play any music that is 30 years old?

Personally I don't listen to anything recorded after 1980. But for a sporting event I think it is imperative to not be stuck in the Jurassic era.

BlackBart and I went to a MLB game the other night. They cranked out new stuff the entire game.

EDIT. YES! To what the queen says below about the sound system. At the open practice last week I could not understand a single word either of the coaches said to us. Such an easy thing to fix.

Oh please oh please hope the sound system is fixed soon! Doesn't matter much about the music if you can't really hear it well.

But anyway - anything that gets people up and in an excited mood is always going to be good. I liked this article with some great oldies, but goodies. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/14583...-in-sports

You have to have mix of it all. For every fan engaging Wagon Wheel and Sweet Caroline, you have Thunderstruck, modern hip hop, and maybe even a little Today Was a Good Day. Something for everybody should be the goal. I know the old farts will complain about newer music, he'll most of those blue hairs are probably still calling elvis the Devils music.

I know it's old and probably overdone but I still like the opening riff to Enter Sandman. Can't go wrong with Metallica.

I don't have any recommendations for intro/time-out music, but I have often wondered why ETSU doesn't use halftime to showcase their music programs. The Music Department has several ensembles as well as bands from the Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Studies program.

Wolfmother's Joker and the Thief always gets me pumped up. It'd be a good entry song.

Exactly. Search YouTube for Tech and Sandman. They go crazy when they play it there.
