I agree it is unscientific and nearly worthless.

Nice to see the MAC has 4 teams in the top 144 and can remember when NIU was in the 300's.
As far as we go will be ok this year and have a strong class 2016 coming in with one offer for Brown still out.
2016 class with one Top 100

obviously there's little thought into where each team specifically fits relative to the 350 other teams but how about the stack of MAC teams top to bottom, look right, any glaring mistakes?

Buffalo should be at least 50 spots lower.

There is no way Kent is better than Akron. The Zips beat them 2 out of 3 last season including in the MAC tourney. All Akron lost were a couple of role players and Kent needs to replace a ton. The real laugher is having Buffalo rated as the third best team in the MAC. They must use a monkey throwing darts to determine these rankings.

Quote:97. Kent State: Rob Senderoff's group finished 12-6 last year in the MAC and returns All-league player Jimmy Hall. If they can replace three starters around him, they'll have a chance to compete for the league's crown.
I think its odd that he's high on them even though they have to replace 3 starters. Like that's not a big deal.

Unfortunately tough to argue with where Ohio sits. We have a lot of question marks, and that could translate to squeaking into the top 100 (at very best) or sliding about 100 spaces lower (at worst). Hard to say until the games start, but this doesn't seem unfair.

Miami certainly earns its poor ranking given our bad performance the past few years, but we lose only one player to graduation, have seven seniors, and have a P5 transfer guard eligible and ready to make a big impact. If we play like we did in late February and early March, we will do well. I have serious doubts about Cooper, but we have the potential to finish in the top half of the MAC at least.

not too long ago CMU was coming in around the mid 300's, Keno has done an amazing job at CMU, a school with not a huge level of basketball success. Actually excited about hoop season

CMU is where UT was last year- loaded with potential, looking great on paper. Hope they do a better job of fulfilling that than we did.

Miami will not be great, but we are underrated in this poll. We figure to be stronger than last year, but they have us rated worse. We did show improvement in the second half of the MAC season last year, and we have most of our talent returning.

With Kent, I don't think we'll have a big step down, replacing the three guards that graduated. Yes, Manley was 2nd team MAC, and Brewer was Honorable Mention, and Derek Jackson was the best of the three. Replacing them will be Xavier Pollard (redshirted last year) who was 'America East 3rd team' in 2014, with a 14.8 scoring average in his first 3 years at Maine; Deon Edwin was a Southern Mississippi recruit, played 30 games for them as a freshman in 2012-2013, played at Laramine CC in 2013-2014 with 21.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg, redshirted at Kent last year; and Galal Cancer, a graduate transfer from Cornell where he started 30 games last year at SG with 9 ppg
And PG Kellon Thomas will be back, he missed most of last year with a facial injury

Despite historically splitting games with Toledo and WMU I love the fact that EMU never gets the respect it deserves even after two back to back 20 plus win seasons, I expect a small dip this year because of our lack of front court depth but we should be loaded at the wings/guard position.
