Hoke is a good coach. He's done well at every place except Michigan. He inherited a disaster when he got there and wasn't given enough time to turn it around.

Hi Georgia!

Would have been the same with LSU.

Georgia did the right thing. It was time for Richt to go.

uh, What am I missing? Didn't Hoke go to the sugar bowl his first year at Mich, then gradually got a little worse each year?

Wow. Memphis did not seem to have a great defense. Lots of shoot-outs. I question that hire.

The more I think about it, the more I think it was more personal than performance. So as soon as he hit a losing season, they (too) abruptly cut the cord on him. Not a good call, but it's one that would at least make some sense on some level.

Odum was Mizzou's DC.

Looks like ECU is being filled http://wnct.com/2015/12/12/report-ecu-to...all-coach/

Not sure how happy ECU fans will be this hire. Glad to see Coach McNeil wind up as as an Assistant HC and LB coach at UVA under Coach Bronco Mendenhall.

Montgomery is a solid coach, but not a ton of experience. Being so young it's going to depend on the staff around him.

RE: Coaching Carousel
So the following two things happened (independently), correct?

- Georgia fired its head coach and hired Alabama's DC as its new HC ... then Alabama hires the Georgia DC to be its new DC

- Rutgers fired its head coach and hired Ohio State's OC as its new HC ... then Ohio State hires the Rutgers HC to be its new DC

Take that!

That's what the GSU guys I know are saying.

I wonder how much of an "upgrade" that is? Obviously G5 to G5, but hopefully a decent pay raise.

Fritz made about 550k this year at GS and was offered around 800k to stay. Tulane is paying 1.2 mil so money talks...

Navy HC Ken Niumatalolo is interviewing at BYU today. Doesn't look like anyone really knows whether he is serious about that job or giving BYU a courtesy interview because he is a devout Mormon.

That would be a slam dunk hire for BYU.

And a huge blow to Navy losing their best coach in the modern era.

Paul Johnson built the program into what it is today, so I would argue he was the best Navy coach in recent history. Niumatalolo has kept the train running, but PJ took over a winless team and turned it into a perennial bowl program.

Makes you wonder who Navy would tap to replace him... The obvious answer was Willie Fritz from Georgia Southern, but he just got hired by Tulane.
